Getting there. I'm staying with friends for a few days while another friend looks after things at home to give me a holiday from it all.
There's a lot to clear up and put right, but give it time and I'll bounce right back :sunny:

Late yesterday afternoon when I took a walk through my neighborhood, I spotted a couple of barefoot people. The first one was a guy who looked like he was in his 30s getting his boat ready for the weekend, cleaning it and loading things (fishing gear?) into it. He did this while barefoot.

Another house I passed, there was a lady watering her grass and she was barefoot also.

I feel fortunate to live in a neighborhood where lots of people enjoy being barefoot. :2thumbsup:

Just back from Central London, saw a guy in his 20s with a girl around Covent Gardens, walking barefoot with his flip flops in his hands. His soles were pitch black. First I have seen in London this year.

Why? The guy was going in his way with his girl. Don't think that would have been appropriate.

 

Saw a young girl about 13 taking off her shoes since it poured rain....apologized to the prinicipal for not wearing shoes

 

While driving at work today, saw a young woman walking barefoot. I could see she had really dirty soles and didn't seem to have any shoes with her. First other person I've seen for ages barefoot in public.

 

Took a trip to Las Vegas last weekend. Lost count of the number of barefoot men and women on the strip and in the casinos. Big mixture of girls after the club carrying their shoes to homeless type people laying on the sidewalk. There were at least half a dozen spotted in the afternoon walking Las Vegas blvd, in 103 degree scorching streets. One thing in common, every single one of them had soles black as paint. This one guy who was relaxing in front of the Bellagio fountains was laying in a position so everybody walking past him had a clear view of his soles. I thought he was wearing black soled sandals, untill I did a double take. That's how filthy his feet were.

 

Was at a stag n doe last night....bride to be was barefoot and her soles were very dirty....told her that i loved her footwear...she said "I hate wearing shoes all the time!!"...i said "I should've married you!"

 

On the drive down to South Carolina, can't tell you how many barefeet I saw placed on the dashboard of minivans...it had to be one in every twenty cars...such a delight!!! Tried to keep pace with many of them!

 

A barefoot cyclist spotted today in Camden. Stopped at traffic lights he had one bare foot on the ground and the other on the pedal. No barefoot pedestrians though (except me!)
Yesterday at the promenade concert there were plenty of bare feet on display in the gallery promenade but I didn't see anyone leave or arrive barefoot (again except me!)

 

Waiting in traffic today, saw 2 young women walking in flip flops. One stopped, kicked hers off, picked them up and carried on walking. Felt like applauding her.

 

Sitting outside the Sandman Signature hotel, at the top of St James' boulevard, in Newcastle, I witnessed a young and very attractive Phillapino woman saunter over the pedestrian crossing in her bare feet, as I sat waiting for the lights to change.

As she crossed in front of me, I was able to observe that the toenails of her seemingly long toes were painted a burgundy colour and that she wore a toe ring on the third toe of her left foot.

Taking into consideration that the RVI sits in the shadow of St James' park, I'd assumed that the young woman had just finished a shift at the hospital, particularly since I was en-route to collect my wife, who is also a nurse, at the RVI.

Given how much my wife regularly complains about how her feet ache, having spent 13 hours upon them, assuming she, too, worked similar shifts to my wife, this attractive young woman would have been relieved to free her feet from the confines of footwear, as she crossed bare-foot in front of me.

Just in case anyone wondered, I do treat my wife to a relaxing foot massage, as she unwinds with a glass of wine in front of the TV, upon returning home.

My wife has also mentioned that some of her work colleagues are incredibly jealous of the fact that she has a husband, who is willing to sooth and pamper her feet upon her return home.
