    As far as I know there are currently no laws compelling anyone to label for GMO's in the US. I could be wrong...

    All "Organic" means to me is We can charge you stupid high prices.

    I think people really generalize what food is like in the US based just on what area they live in. In my experience the quality of food differs really dramatically based on what area you are in.

    farmers market is a great place for produce and i do try to buy organic when in a grocery store and i know some of it may be hoax-ey and not fully organic..but i like to know at least the effort was put forth...to be called organic.

    These days, to me, Buy local > Organic. If possible, both, @ farmers market. Food these days is highly dubious regardless, however. Origins, claims they make, etc.
