"A Subway sandwich artist in Florida was fired for threatening a customer who wanted ketchup on his Philly cheesesteak, according to WFTV. When Luis Martinez ordered the condiment, Lawrence Ordone told local station WFTV that he was perplexed. "He wants ketchup on the Philly cheese steak and I have never put — we don't even have ketchup at Subway — I've never put ketchup on anybody's sandwich," said Ordone. After that, Martinez allegedly "mouthed off" to Ordone and a confrontation ensued. According to Martinez, Ordone began to yell at him, blocked the door, and threatened to kill him..." sometimes people neg a thread and don't say anything in the thread and sometimes people abuse it but whatever. I hate it when i'm not allowed to rate threads any more in a given day. but it's weird tho... it seems like it's always after diff amounts? neways, I do kinda like that it's anonymous though- rep is supposed to be a more personal and serious if that's the right word..way of rating something and the ratings are just kinda more silly. oh and I don't really send too many neg reps really... I've sent three maybe since I started this name. two of them deserved it- the other I positive repped right after because the whole thing was ppl not understanding of each other- rating threads tho sometimes I hardly ever rate them and sometimes I rate a lotta + and more neg then rep but not a lot. I think I rated something thumbs down maybe once. but yea, sometimes I do wonder who the ppl are and then I don't care.
uh, about this- why didn't the subway worker just say "Uh, sorry, we don't have ketchup here... what would you like on it instead?" so what? he just didn't do it and the guy flipped or the guy was like "no, you're gonna get me some ketchup bitch before I kill you?" ummm maybe i'll click on the story..
lol the story isn't very detailed but that seems to be what happened..I found it slightly amusing. I guess they were both in the wrong here, but you're right, the employee should have just said we don't have ketchup...and the employee is the one that should try to keep his/her cool no matter what...even when the customer is wrong. Also, the story is sort of hard to follow, but the employee is the one that threatened to kill the customer..
Okay,I will try a Subway, there's one in my local town...I need to learn more about the world around me and maybe I will find it there...What do you recommend I order?
The only subways around here that don't have drive throught are the older ones in shopping centers and what not, where its impossible to have one. Most of them do though.
I don't think they really need a Drive-thru here. 6981 Cameron Blvd #101, Gilroy, CA 95020 https://maps.google.co.uk/maps?q=69...oid=P0K28yLjCajHQWtuF7WZQQ&cbp=12,155.36,,0,0
I'm not suprised: https://maps.google.co.uk/maps?q=subway+drive+thru&um=1&ie=UTF-8&hl=en&sa=N&tab=wl :smilielol5: The only one in America, and they don't actually need it...
the article makes it sound like the customer got the attitude first. Having dealt with customers, I've always said that people should be nice to others no matter what because you never know what is going on in someone's life. What if the subway employee was dealing with some serious shit? A sick child at home and the employee has no health insurance, a loved one that recently passed away and the employee couldn't get time off for the funeral. The employee could be going through any number of problems, and here comes this entitled prick that demands ketchup then gets pissed and acts like an asshole when he doesn't get his way. So he picks the wrong day to fuck with the wrong person to bitch about some meaningless problem when the employee has serious issues going on, and she snaps and the confrontation escalates until she's yelling "I'm gonna kill you, motherfucker!" I mean, ideally any employee in any type of job should be able to show enough maturity and restraint to avoid doing something like that lol, but we're all human and we all have bad days and limits to our good humor. People should just be nice to each other and not treat service industry workers like the shit on their shoes.
