I think in any business unhappy employees are usually overworked, underpaid and not treated well by management.
Subway when its busy reminds me of "No soup for you!" You just got to get in there, blert out what you want, then do that sideways shuffle like Kastanza does in the Nazi Soup Guy episode They have salt and pepper mixed in the same container so it saves them what 1/2 second each customer
I mentioned 'Jimmy John's' as a good sandwich place, another good place is 'Pita Pit'...though that's technically Pita's....the employees are always friendly there.
Groovy! I almost forgot about this place near me called 'Super Sandwich'... I order a vietnamese style veggie sandwich there, really good..and the people that own the place are nice.
if ordering a sandwich at subway is awkward for you why is it just subway and making an order in general? If your order bothers the employee then they should get a better job, I can see it being annoying if people stand on line and don't really know what the fuck they want when they get up there...but mostly to other people that are waiting.
i've never really gotten any attitude at subway. do you get this at more than one particular location? in my years of food service, i only really got annoyed by people ordering food in two situations: 1) when there is more than double the expected business for absolutely no reason whatsoever, so it is physically impossible for the staff to get anything done besides sit there and take orders that no one is there to make, and 2) after 8 pm when i'm tired and just want to clean up and go home. come on, every year around this time the entire subway advertising budget is spent on various ads that say "WE HAVE AVOCADOS!!!!!" the first pizza place i worked at was next door to a jimmy john's. i know for a fact that the employees over there used to smoke blunts every day while prepping food. so i'm not too surprised that they are pretty easy-going about whatever orders might come in.
