opiates and constipation

I've had to use this before a diagnostic procedure.

I call it "Liquid Dynamite"!

 

I read the review on that. It sounds like something that would be used in a cartoon, with ACME on the bottle instead of Walgreen's. From the review:

"This stuff isn't calm, gentle, overnight relief. This is the Navy Seal Hell-Week of laxatives. Your intestines and rear end will feel battered, weak, and abused by the time it's done, but the job it does is like no other."

 

Well i finally went the other day. Had to stop meds for a day and take a laxative. Now back on meds and on the same path...looks like laxatives every 5 days for me LOL

I only take 20-25 mg of hydrocodone a day...does your body ever get use to it as in me being able to go to bathroom while taking it?

 

Every time I've taken narcotic pain killers, they blocked me up like a cork. I can only use them short term.

 

sounds like your level of constipation is past anything i've ever had (i don't use opiates), but has anyone tried drinking a couple beers? not great to do with pills, and probably not strong enough to really work. but if i can't poop, a beer or two can help. sometimes a bong hit will make me have to poop, but we stoners tend to find that pot cures all kinds of ailments

 

This may sound dumb, and it doesn't work with serious constipation, but drinking a soda now and then may help. The gas apparently helps push things out.

 

so once my body got use to the meds..i was able to go at my normal times..but took almost 2 weeks

 

since i started opiates my bowel have been better than ever.
