It's funny that I started this thread and it's still going. I've been sober for probably 5 or 6 months now. I drink a little occasionally but that's it.

I have done alot of experimenting in my days (only 22) and I still have not been able to find the right opiate for me. I use 30mg roxys almost every generally 2, 3 for a good day and there difficult to use b/c my tolerance gets so high so quick. Does anyone have any suggestions for whys i can catch a good high w/o worrying about such a rapid tolerance (i.e roxys) or having to endure excruciating w/d's?

    Please can somebody help me!!!!

Maddog, As soon as someone invents that opiate that doesnt cause your tolerance to skyrocket into space within a short period of time, and have it be worth using, my friend, that is the day another billionaire is made. For daily use, its gonna happen, almost assured. I too would like to see some suggestions though..

Salvia works on opiate receptors and shows no signs of tolerance. Some promising opioid work is coming out of it.

Yes. We now know that Kappa-opioid antagonists act as novel antidepressants. This is seen partially in buprenorphine, which I take as both an anti-addictive and antidepressant. I discussed with the doctor that if I simply wanted to get off opioids, I would have already tapered off of Suboxone. But, we decided to keep treatment going at a low dose for its antidepressant properties in my case.

does anyone else on subs feel that subs give you short term energy but also drain your energy in the long run??

Sort of. I can't sleep right after taking them, but later, when I do sleep, I sleep a long long time compared to pre opioid days.

Let me start off by saying Suboxone IS in fact a miracle drug for w/d. Now, I just started on subs and haven't slept in the whole 3 days i've been on them. I just can't seem to get a restful sleep IF i can fall asleep at all. The sleep is more like a sustained nod. I feel like I'm gonna die when i am on the brink of sleep and then i wake up. Its horrible i tried smoking them after reading some experiences of its effectiveness (which it does work btw.) I decided not to take anymore until i go back to the doc. Roxy's do nothing for me after being on subs. Hopefully my doc will give me ativan or ambien for sleep...

I am patiently awaiting my Magnesium Glycinate supplement to keep my Suboxone tolerance down as I discussed previously. It worked at a time in the past, so I am confident that it will help again.

I am happy to report that my experiment taking Magnesium supplements (in chelated form only- Magnesium Glycinate in my case) really has reduced my tolerance in the 2 weeks since I started. I would say that I get the feeling of 6mg of Suboxone from only 3 or 4 mg. I actually nodded off of 6mg yesterday, which hasn't happened since I started Suboxone 6 months ago. I recommend it whole-heartedly.

methadone has given me the same affect toward roxys. Seems like everytime I take Donefor a week, I come back to Roxys and im doubling what was working before and still not reaching same affect.

As for Suboxone's effect on sleep, I have to poke my head in and assure you (Ganja) that the "perma-nod" effect wears off in about a month or so of taking it. Then (at least for my story), you function well for about 3 months, then, you build a tolerance, then you find a way to lower it, then you keep going along okay.

Just a day in the life of a Suboxoner.

The best bet it to get on amazon.com, look up 'Carlson Chelated Magnesium' and buy it there. I have been to a half a dozen health stores and none had the chelated version, only the crappy Magnesium Oxoide.

After just reading this entire thread from the first post the last post I want to play too :)

I just ate 40mgs Oxy and I'm feeling goooooood. I believe that potentiating really works. I drank 16oz of 100% white grapefruit juice (so bitter ugh) and had 2 extra strength Tums and I'm nodding hard already. Usually takes me more than 40mgs for that.

Like some others said, I get such strong cravings for cigarettes after taking oxy. I smoke like 5 - 6 cigs in a row, multiple times, like it's nothing. Although I always regret it the next morning when my throat is killing me.

Does anybody else get insomnia from using? I always end up staying up basically all night (I only do them at night). I get sleepy and nod a lot, but somehow I always just stay up for hours and hours. Kind of annoying sometimes. Especially when I'm dead tired the next day and my girlfriend (who doesn't know I use) is all like what's wrong? Why couldn't you sleep? Again.

Sorry for the long post, I'm feeling gooooood :sunny: right now and it was nice to finally share about my use (nobody knows. Nobody)
