I have this person who regularly visits my place and is tolerant of my nudity, however while he may be open minded he is a bit funny about me being naked saying things like "aren't you cold its not that hot you know". It seems he has the idea in his head that it needs to be really warm to be naked but in my experience I can find 18 C+ comfortable and 15 C tolerable. So what is your view on this? Its my place so I couldn't care less what he thinks and no he isn't a nudist like myself.
in the winter, I sweat more with all those clothes on.. sweating leads to chills, chills leads to colds and sniffles. so Im either as nude. or I have light material on in the house..
Is it fun to make up little stories on the internet so you can tell us how victimized you are? And pray tell us, who exactly is this guy that comes over clothed to hang out with you naked?
Vanilla, though I don't know all the details, I think you are on to something. Maybe the visitor is just hoping the nudity is for his pleasure? After all if it is chilly, but you ignore your discomfort to be naked for me every time I come to visit, maybe you are trying to let me know that you find me sexually attractive? And maybe NatureDude is trying to sort out his own feelings about that mutual attraction? Pure speculation on my part, but this is just a forum, we can speculate that the moon is made of green cheese if we want to...
Urm...you think this is made up? What gave you that thought? Don't people have better things to do than make up stories...on second thoughts maybe not. Anyway. I think that the dude coming around is probably just uncomfortable...perhaps not only because you have your weener exposed, but also because as humans we really don't have that much fur, and we wear clothes for a reason, maybe he actually thinks you must be cold. Underwear and a sweater sound lovely to me at +15c.
I forget that it is late winter/early spring right now in Melbourne. It is still hot here, too hot for clothes by day, but mornings are getting cooler 15.6 C in fact.
If it's a fictional story, it's reasonably plausible. I think the visitor is uncomfortable with the nudity, even though he thinks he should be "tolerant". So what he's doing is making some remark about it which isn't directly disapproving, but which seems to express a concern about the naked person--"Aren't you cold". Really I'm imagining his thoughts being something like "I wish it were colder, then this guy would be forced to put some clothes on".
I too think it is all about the weather. During my first marriage we would regularly holiday in Naturist resorts and everything seemed normal, very relaxing too, but this was in France, Croatia and Spain in the summer. Recently I saw a documentary on UK TV about naturism and all the people seemed very odd, they were "determined" to be naked at all cost. This, to my mind is not the way to be at all. If the weather is hot it is nice to be naked, when it is cold it is not, not at all. Another observation I have made relates to saunas, in Scandinavia, where I lived for a while, everyone is naked and all is well, after all it is very hot and sweaty. However, I went to a sauna in a UK hotel another on a cruise and the rule was that a suitable costume must be worn and one was even had women and men only sessions and no nudity there either. I think wearing a costume in a sauna defeats the whole object of the exercise.
If it's your home and they are a guest, then fuck it. They can either accept it or not come back. I have no idea what they are being "tolerant" of. They are the guest.
Totally agree with you. I've never understood the need to be nude as much as possible to me that isn't naturism merely obsessive nudity. Right place. time and temperature suit me. Your point about Sauna is totally valid, I wish the rest of the world was more like Scandinavia.
Ok, no one has asked this, so I must. How the hell do you manage having an "open minded but"? I didn't know that buts have minds. I know dicks act like they do (sometimes). Please explain.
Mutual attraction? WTF there is no mutual attraction. I just like to be naked from time to time. Its not like I'm naked when freezing cold as in below 10 C.
No worries; no intent to offend. As for being naked below 10 C? If winter is running on a little long, sometimes you can't wait for spring. Here's what I do: Peel off, run around in the brisk air for a while and come in to warm up by the fire. On a calm sunny day, you would be surprised how cool it can be yet still feel pleasant. I do wear shoes when the ground is cold. I love being barefoot, but I can tolerate being nude above the ankles better than below them. Some guys wear a knit cap, shoes and nothing else. It has to be fairly cold before I can endure a cap for any length of time.
Thanks! Congress is in a huff right now and it isn't doing anyone any good. I think all the people who like being naked in cold weather should do as they please. I think all the people who refuse to be naked until the weather is hot should do as they please. (even if they are missing out on lots of winter fun IMHO).
NatureDude, my apologies. I thought you were joking in your initial post. Don't worry about what others think of your nudity. Is 15c (59F) tolerable? Cool! It certainly IS cool, but it's also mentally cool. Of course I remember going out in -24c (-10F) weather shoveling snow. I'd be out for an hour, go in for some hot cocoa, and after a 15 minute warm up, I'd go for another hour. It didn't bother me at all, as my body can handle that. I also remember one winter I didn't do anything like that and my GF nearly crapped her pants over it- she felt my forehead and found it hot, so she put a skin temp sensor on my forehead and my temp was 40c (105F). My body does that. It adjusts for the weather. She freaked out and I was "oh, that's all it's over? La dee dah." NatureDude, I understand this person may be a friend, or even a good friend. But if anything they need to be more accepting of how you are in YOUR home. It's YOUR home, not theirs. HTH bro.
I gotta say, I find it annoying when he makes comments about me being naked. Maybe he's trying to discourage me from being a nudist without making it obvious. An echoing reminder that nudists don't get a lot of support from textiles.
Lol, As in they dont get a lot of support from wool, cotton and corduroy? Maybe I should stay out of it, but really, you dont think that just sounds like a wank, refering to them as textiles? Sheesh, labels for every darn thing nowadays 0 out of 5 soy decaf, vegan except for cheese, pansexual, non textiles like this post
