Including but 100% not limited to 18 wheeliers and box trucks.

Suck a bag of dicks. Hopefully you will choke on one of them.

    Love Mike

One of my peeves in winter is that people do this. Those that also clear a little spot on their front windshield and then take off with all the other windows obstructed by snow. Dangerous and irresponsible.

I wish they would ticket more people for doing it and then possibly they might consider not doing it again.

The one time it snowed here this "winter" i saw a woman stuck at a redlight scraping snow off her car because when she put her brakes on all the snow and ice on top of the car slid over her windshield and obstructed her view.

It was comical but could have been dangerous too

We're all a bunch of dummies here when it comes to driving in the snow though

  5. That's what I'm talking about. I leave it on the hood too. It's mighty satisfying watching it all fly off.

Reminds me of an old NASCAR race, had Dale Earnhardt hanging out the window with a windshield wiper trying to clean his windshield, and still driving around too. <3

why should they have to dig out their cars unless they're going to drive them?

now driving around without cleaning it off, ok, i'm sure that's what the op meant.

well really driving is something no one should ever have to do,
especially where huge numbers of people live close enough to each other,
    to support public transit.

one of the things that did used to bother me when i lived up in the mountains where it snowed all the time,
and i had to drive to live there, was what the chemicals they use to melt the ice on the roads,
did to windshields and other parts of cars.

i know the roads would be less safe if the didn't do this,
but anyone who assumes roads to be safe under those conditions is nuts anyway.
i'm still not saying they shouldn't sand/salt the roads, but sticky calcium sand salt?
i'm sure its because its cheaper then anything else that would do the job,
but still, i'd rather see everyone drive five miles an hour or ride a train going 15 or 20,
then try and get a windshield to where i can see through it,
after being splashed with that crap.

all snow and ice or just on the windows? windows i get, since they are necessary for seeing where you're going. but who has time to clean all the shit off their car every day? snow on a car roof shouldn't affect you unless you're tailgating the shit out of them when it falls off anyway.

i definitely won't ever clean the snow out of the back of my truck if i'm not about to haul something back there. the extra weight makes driving on the unplowed roads much safer.

i put a tonneau cover on the big truck for winter...easier to push off the snow with a broom that way..and then because its black the sun melts everything off it when its sunny

plus i only use it for plowing so its always in 4x4 dont need the weight and it keeps the box nice and clean just in case i need to haul something i dont have to shovel it out

I don't really get irritated by this type of thing. When we are snowed in for weeks why am I dusting my car off every day? Like, it scrapes away with the windshield wiper, what's wrong with that? :D

Ice on a car can fly off and impact cars trailing far behind on a highway and smash a windshield.

Well it can't be trailing too far behind if it's hitting the windshield. :D
Seems like an encouragement to get the hell off my tail pipes!

Yes it can. A car that was about 15 to 20 car lengths in front of me on the highway had a layer of ice and hard snow on the roof. A piece about meter long broke off and went up into the air like an airplane wing for a few seconds, well above the height of a car. Part of it came down and struck my windshield on the driver side. It didn't come through the glass but it left many cracks in the glass in a spider web pattern.

The air coming over the windshield at highway speed of the car it broke off from caused a section of ice/snow on the roof near the windshield to get propelled upward. Such a piece can travel a long distance before it hits a car trailing far behind.
