She is a 10" OOAK BJD(fully poseable) doll by Connie Lowe. At the time of payment, you were able to request the color of hair and eyes. I asked for hazel eyes and blonde hair and for a dress. Connie understood that I wanted her to be dainty and pretty. Connie hand paints all of these dolls and also makes the clothes. Each is different, and they are very limited dolls....works of art....Connie also sculpts each mold...to poor the resin in.... I was really into the doll world for awhile...i still buy one or two here or there, but basically, am not as interested in dolls as much anymore. I have enough here for a lifetime. I just remembered I have one more coming I ordered almost a year ago...oh, well... Her arrival...She was afraid and unsure....Her name is Oops.... So I took off her hat, and asked her to stay awile... Her wig is made of mohair, and you can remove it and buy another color wig.... You can also change the eyes in these dolls. I think I will leave Oops as she is, but find a dress for her, too...
I suppose in a way.... They are good to pose and tell stories about...like children's books. U made Oops cry....
Never figured out how to do that.... I am not that much of a computer expert here. Can barely do the things I do do on this computer. lol
LOL...Jo, will she be your desk mate muse? hahahahaha.... This one had a sister named Grim. She was cute, too, but I only ordered the one.
Hey if you like this doll, you might like the artwork of Kathie Olivas! She is featured at an art studio here in Soho. I almost died when I walked past this gallery because they had one of her doll sculptures in the window, they have quite a bit of her work. Here is some stuff you might enjoy. I really like her…. Oh another artist you might like is Nicolette Ceccoli. She's kind of similar. www.kathieolivas.com
Hello, happilyinlove! Thank you for the very interesting link. I had not heard of the two peope you mentioned.. How freakishly interesting...LOL... Check out Kim Lasher art dolls and Kaye Wiggs. They have hit the BJD(ball jointed doll) world like crazy these doll artists. I have Archie and his gang dolls here, too...Veronica, Jughead, etc....
I love the paintings of the girl in the blue dress, I hadn't seen thatfirst time I looked here, and why did my response above go from east to west 10, 000 miles? LOL
I think she's cute!! Sort of reminds me of Blythe dolls. I very much would like a Blythe doll. You can customize them to look like you.
Blythe is cool, too. Have a few of them, too. LOL What don't I have in dolls, is the question? LOL I never played with dolls much as a kid. I was always outside clmbing trees or something....I don't know what happened, when I first got my computer and started looking at ebay. I was finished. LOL
Before I had my own computer, I worked with a lady who was a bit of a nut. She had a daughter I became friends with. I went to their house, and all there was was dolls everywhere This older lady collected dolls and boy, did she. There was not a corner in the house without them. I was a bit creeped out by the situation. Her daughter seemed to suffer from a lack of attention from her mom or something and had a bad case of anorexia.....I could not understand the doll thing and her suffering daughter....I have my dolls in one closed room or in the shed or in boxes in the basement. I never want to become that lady. LOL
What I really like on this thread now are those two paintings, and am waiting for Happyinlove to come back and answer about them. They are awesome! Talk about live food for starters.
