Actually theres about three times more trees in the US today then in 1900. http://www.newton.dep.anl.gov/askasci/bot00/bot00090.htm Because trees are a resource... The US doesn't import lumber, that means all our lumber comes from trees inside the states. The United States government and corparations inside have nothing to do with the loss of the rain forests in South America. So how can there be more trees? thats because trees are a resource.... when you buy a stack of lumber, you're ordering a new tree to be planted. Potatoes aren't endangered because you eat french fries, You don't hear anything about virgin potato fields, especially if Mr. Potato Head has his way. Lumber is nessacary, the only way to not cut down trees is to read the same paper over and over, but then you'd be causing less trees to be planted. If you like trees, use paper. Deforestation of the rain forests is caused by destitute farmers in South America who are despreatly trying to grow food for their families, using ineffecient slash and burn croping methods.
Lumber practices decided by lumber corparations in the US require two trees to be planted for every one harvested.
lets just all leave society and move out in the woods. im serious, whos down? i got some spots well grow our own food and never have to deal with all this bs again.
