"LEGALLY"??? Anymore, if you can get away with it, it's legal. And the bottom line for anyone arrested for, say, taping an arrest? They STILL lost their camera and the film was STILL destroyed, so, legal or not, the cops did what they wanted to do, with little to no fear of reprisal.
Law enforcement can do whatever they want in the name of law enforcement. There's little if any checks and balances. if they want to beat the shit out of you, go ahead. if they want to taze you for speaking out, go ahead. If they want to kill you, they can get away with murder even.
I'd rather be arrested charged and put into prison (or released)...rather than being taken to a cellar flogged to an inch of my life and then hung till I be dead.
no-one really seems to care that we've got no rights anymore, a few years ago ppl would stand up for what they believed in and would not take any shit, nowadays ppl are more concerned with whether they've got a big telly and that their car is better than the neighbours. They will all realise one day whats going on but then it will be too late
and how long will that attitude get you? if you really don't think about the law, then you must murder people you don't like, must speed and run red lights regularely, steal things, etc. Yeah, wasting a majority of your life doing jail time is great. Plus potential employers LOVE criminal records. Spend your life being an "outlaw" will just destroy your life. Do I agree with a lot of the laws? fuck no. But I also don't plan on ruining my record or wasting away in prison.
thats ridiculous..lol one can control their actions based on morality alone . just because one doesnt think about whats legal and whats not legal doesnt mean they dont have ethics and morals that keep them from doing many things that are illegal.. i mean seriously if murder was legal would you run around killing people? probably not.. in fact if you answer yes, i would say you have some serious issues and should be locked away anyway..
surely you don't agree with every law in the books? I think i should have every right to smoke a joint on my porch or at the park. I should have the right to run around topless. If I do either of these, I will go to jail. So, I DO have to think of the law and ask myself it its a good idea and worth the time in jail.
what the hell does that have to do with your original statement that spawned my reply? so now you have switched from murder to minor misdemeanors.. many people are not afraid of a night or two in jail to stand up for what they believe in. its a personal choice.hell most places either of those wont get you more than a ticket,if even that. lol we walk around naked smoking pot all the time. the old lady gardens topless all summer long.. maybe you should move..lol i can totally relate to where the guy is coming from.. obviously you cant..lol have fun spending your whole life in fear of the man ..lol
I don't want a record. A record follows you for the rest of your life and can ruin everything. Its not fear when you don't pee on the electric fence; its common sense.
You better hope your economy lasts that long. Then with the legal doob, police courts and jails won't have to spend, and taxes can take, money.
This, to me, is the bigger threat. Okay, everyone has read (or, at least, heard of) 1984, right? No one likes the picture of the future it presents. And yet everyone can see that that's where we're going, but no one's doing anything about it. In the United Statesm freedom is fictional, or at least it's going to be very very soon. Orwell's fictional story will become our truth, and the freedom we used to enjoy will become the fairy tale.
