The 'song you can't live without' thread was all too difficult This isn't exactly easy either, but if all your albums were to vanish, which would you want to be left with? For me it's Pink Floyd's "Atom Heart Mother". It's not my favourite album, or even my favourite Floyd album. But it does have quite the impressive classical style opener, all brooding and kinda scary. That leads you into the nice and relaxed 'If'. You've got your rocker in 'Summer of '68', the fairly uplifting 'Fat Old Sun' and 13 minutes of oddness in 'Alan's Psychedelic Breakfast'. Champion
nah, that album isnt their greatest. if I had to choose a pink floyd album, it would have to be Animals.
Pink Floyd - Piper at the gates of dawn Beatles - White Album Hawkwind - Space Ritual Led Zeppelin - I (first album) Gong - Live at shefield Tangerine Dream - Pahedra The Doors - First album Hendrix - Electric Ladyland oh shit..... Sorry man I cant pick just one!
The Beatles - 1, White Album, Abbey Road, Rubber Soul Tori Amos- Tales of a Librarian, Little Earthquakes
We sure grasped this concept didn't we? And I have to agree that "Animals" is the best Floyd album, my No.1 album ever in fact. But it just doesn't have a wide enough spectrum of styles/sounds for it to be the only album to hear for the rest of your life. I reckon
If I could only pick one album it would be the soundtrack from the movie FM, made in the early '70's. It is all classic rock by some of my favorite artists.
Coming up with one album I couldn't live without is hard, but if I could choose only one, it would be the "new" Easy Rider soundtrack. I know that movie's been out since 1969, but the soundtrack was recently re-released with an additional CD of music from the 60s. I love that album.
Right now I would want to keep one of my Stereolab CDs, but tomorrow I'm sure I would pick something different.
One album would probably be Sgt Pepper purely because its got so many different styles. Its a bitch to decide though, so much good out there
