The song "On The Street Where You Live" from the musical My Fair Lady is a unique cultural reference. Freddy can't gain access to Eliza Doolittle. So he has to be content to simple being near her, on the street where she lives. Today we'd call that stalking. But when it came out, people found it a touching romantic balad. In fact many cover versions came out at the same time, Dean Martin, Mario Lanza, Nat King Cole just to name a few.
