well, remember that guy who had some work for me and few others by prescott, the concret work, well were goingto work for him for a while during which time were going to get that dude in prescott to convert us to veggie ...cant beat his price,

Im not terribly fond of re tracing my steps, though I guess it had to happen eventually,
as well I want to pay that electric company here , they were reaLLY good to us and I dont think that sort of kindness should be rewarded by us leaving him the bill.

we met this cat allan, an iranian traveler, hes been on the road now 12 years, he's an odd kid but a really good one, he's our newest addition to the tribe....

ok so it didnt take us long to decide to leave flagstaff, yesterday was a lazy day for us, pretty much just waiting around the bus ate a good meal and veged infront of the tv...

its freakin cold today, not much will detere a gypsy....cold will!!! were outta here, voted on working somewhere warmer and getting a conversion kit mailed to us....

Well im alright, i was hoping after a summer break i would be back in the mood for school, but i find it just as tyring and tideuous as befor. however i have been playing alot of music and thats been fun. Oh and celebrated alexander keiths birth day!
Sara hasent mad it yet, i havent herd from her in a while so i duno whats going on.
i hope its still rolling next summer cause i will surly jump on again, maybe even around january, it jsut feels weird having a phone number

where have a ll the good people gone, either a scum fuck, a lazy ass in the guise of a rainbow a fugitive, a thief, ....or just really damn annoying....

we want this to be bigger than one bus, but what the hell, where the hell is some good folk ...weve met shit loads of good kids but there all housies,
weve met a lot of cool kids....but I mean I dont want to live with most of them ,
weve met other buses with the driver and her baby passed out in a ditch having medics waking them up,
buses of pure scumfucks,
buses of pure drama
rich ass weekend warriors .....nice kids and all but the twinkie complaining thing wears thin after a while...

we would like a more permanant tribe, its fun as hell doing what were doing now, but we can effect greater change with some permanant kids.....

k thats my rant ,

Jay- I heard from Sara about a week ago. She is still waiting on that guy to get his shit together. But she is doing well and sounds like she is still planning on visiting you-I think she may be coming to Chicago before then.
Drew....you'll find some good people. You had a lot of good people, and a bunch of people who wanted to be permanent. You'll find more. But if you want to be permanent then you have to set it up that way- you have to change things a bit. You have to give up more of your control....
But who cares what I have to say anyways.

I agree with you both really, though the more I let go of the riens the less gets done and the more things fall apart,

I did have a lot of folk who wanted to be permanent, though after the honeymoon is over real colours start to show, greed especially.

I mean society all around us teaches us to gain, our internal instinct is such as a hunter gatherer,

living in a day to day lifestyle, taking care of our needs and wants really but without storing, confuses people, eventually they decide they want more ....

its a matter of how people want to live their lives, highway child is free, we travel, we work enough for what we need and want and thats it, we travel...we play, we live.

it doesnt have the greatest retirement plan, I mean we are looking now into land, which I guess would be just that....but we still want to give buses to folk, to get people in motion,

of course I care what you have to say chris, of all people you have the greatest perspective, apart from living it alone, you get to replay it over and over...how is the editing coming?

we were talking about sending a clip into pimp my ride , any chance of getting a collection of clips when were workling on the bus, push starting the bus and all?


I think what we are doing right now is the best we can do, just bieng extremely picky who we winter with , jordan will get back on down the road, Im sure of that, daryle will probally again, though Im not to sure if tribe life is meant for him..in fact I pretty sure its not, sara has her own life and travels, though Im sure she will ride the bus again as well, like many others folk get on , folk get off, theres always home on the highway child.

I drove a big truck for 4 years, If you fuel up with 50 gallons of fuel you get a free shower ticket good for 7 days at truckstops. Most drivers who work hard easily have free showers to give away or you can buy a shower for about 7 dollars.


With a cb on the bus I bet you could always get yourselves free showers at truckstops.

Yes its a very interesting education learning about people, I had to do it in the bar I own and you have to do it with your adventure. Either you are a leader or a follower, you have to set the right tone to make it positive, set the ground rules or the good people will be chased away.

Price of gas is way higher in Europe, no way would they allow your gas hog air polluting monster, besides you would not be able to afford running it.

I sometimes wish, after reading this that I could take myself back to my early twenties when I hitched around the world and all across America. Was really fun in so many ways and now my life is somewhat dedicated to keeping my bar going.

BLINKIN ..the older you get with all the varied people you meet, the better you get at pickin people you like to winter with,,,,,,, I really lucked out pickin Augie from hipforums just based on what he wrote at first. It is gonna be a real comfortable winter here with someone who lives here and goes about his business and interests without spending a lot of time talking to me. I'd rather see someone happy in action like he was today at the firepit than hash over ole times.

Great read brother-It takes me back to when I had a bus and did the same thing; it was 1972 and we had this 42 Dodge!-Flathead 6 motor barely made it over the Rockies-But the easy pace and the mountains made for alot of nice times and warm nights-We had a wood stove with a stack comin throught the roof and when I pulled into gas stations they freaked-made me shut down the fire!-heavy snow in those mountains-Anyway-enjoy your trip-stay outa the redneck country or just don't stop-Some places will never change-good luck to you and yours and Keep On Truckin!

k were in..well Ihave no idea, some stupid over expensive RV lot south of pheonix a bunch of old rich folk, I cant believe they allowed the bus in the first place, but we got it so linz could watch lost on cable...cable doesnt work, kidss cant swim in the pool....freakin hell !!! thats 38 bucks that Ill try my darndest to get back at check out time../.



k so we have a few new additions marshal and gear, now we have had gay folk on our bus before , but this is a new dimension, since there a couple,
there some of the coolest folks though, ....we never really get bored just get gear talking about his family...
his wife left him for his sisters boy friend, then left him for his sister, then he hooked up with his ex ...er something from that popint my brain starts to hurt....o9h and there from arkansas.........makes all the sence eh?
