God does not hide, nor does maya want us to move away from God. Don't blame God and maya for our own foolish ignorance. God is nityopalabhdhah - ever available. Maya is sacred, we always worship maya in the form of Sitaji, Radha, Lakshmiji. But maya must be worshipped along with bhagawan not separately. Ravana wanted Sitaji separately, whereas Hanumanji loved her in conjunction with Rama.

This is not my opinion, this is an essential fact that God is hiding from our eyes in the material world, everything else is our opinions.

Perhaps God is hiding in us too.

I'm not sue this is 100% accurate. In Sri Aurobindo's Yoga for instance the Divine Mother, the Shakti, is worshipped alone.

But there shakti is not just the maya shakti, but bhagawan and maya combined. The same in other cases is seen as two, Sita Rama, Lakshmi Narayana, etc.

Thats right. But it's like the analogy of the sun and the sun's light - the two are ultimately one and inseperable.
As Ramakrishna said " proceed to the Supreme through His radiance".

you are close jedi but you have it backwards... it is the jiva who may at times hide from God and for this reason, God may apparently be not present but it is only the jiva who is covered

In Tulsi Ramayan the oneness/difference of Stia and Rama is described as the oneness and separation of a word and its meaning.
