As far as the "marijuana makes you boring" thing: I don't think it makes anyone boring, it just makes boring more fun.

I disagree about the communism statement... The Manifesto was written about primitive communism, not industrialized. The manifesto doesn't work with industrial communism, and wasn't intended to. Marx's inspiration for the book were the primative hunting fishing and gathering tribes that used to inhabit North America. They were anarcho communes, and it worked very well. They depended on each other, and truly 100% relied on the "from each according to his ability, to each according to his need". This is why hippie communes in the 60's flurished and worked: They were very primitive. It wasn't industrialized, and had a lot of similarities to the HFG tribes.

To think that the outline of the Communist Manifesto can work in a post-industrial revolution world while in an industrialized nation is pretty silly. It then becomes a means to oppress others, and absolute power corrupts absolutely.

And there were many hippie ideals, communism being the most prominant, but anarchy also a big one. They actually go hand in hand. A HFG tribe survived because it was an anarchy. If they had a cheif, it would have just become oppressive.

Marijuana made me boring. So did athlete's foot.

Personally, I think cocaine and cheap hookers makes people boring. Getting a new significant other or new job makes people boring, at times. So does keeping an old one.

I do reckon we're still pretty plagued.
