There's no such thing as knowledge. Only belief that you are aware of certain things.

It's just because most people believe in a reality...

A lot of things just aren't possible because of the state of mind the majority of the free and not so free world is in.

No, you cannot know. Because no one knows. How can you know? Are you God? Of course you aren't. Then what's to say any of this is true at all? The fact that you see it? The fact that you feel it? The fact that your other senses say it's there? Bullshit. This could be a dream or a memory. How do you know? You don't, it's that simple.

However, you believe. The only thing that keeps this reality alive for you is that you believe it is alive. But if you've read anything about philosophy, these thoughts would already be in your mind. Of course, you smoke so much pot, you've probably forgotten them.

Goddammit, I really want to kick your ass.

Yeah, they've got better things to do, like create metaphors for life when they open up an oreo, and hiding from 'the man'.

What if I "know" my brain is working now? What if I'm comfortable?

Who the hell are you to tell me what's going on in my head? Oh, that's right. A self-contradictory fuckwit.

Edit: Dammit, if your stupidity wasn't distracting me, I could argue this philosophy a lot better.

We should start an all out hoppie-anti brawl. I don't know if my participation would be fair, and I'm pretty sure that beating up 14 year olds is illegal, but I can sit and bet on you guys.

Alright, here's something I wrote in my journal a while back, then saved on my computer for reasons unknown.

The wonderful thing about religion is that you will always be right, and you will always be wrong (contradiction is the only constant, and even that is easily contradicted). You will always be right because there is no proof that you are wrong (unless right or wrong are not determined by comparison, and ah, there's the contradiction). And you will always be wrong because believing is not knowing and no one, living, dead, or otherwise, will ever know, except perhaps God (but if He knows, why would He act at all? If He knows, why would we be here? If He knows, He knows this is all pointless, making Him just another jerk-off who got bored and made a bong out of a 2-liter bottle, some duct tape, and bits of metal. Ah, there's the contradiction). There is no such thing as knowledge, only the belief that we are fully aware of certain things.

"And you may ask yourself, 'How did I get here?'" --Talking Heads, "Once in a Lifetime"

It is human nature to need to know the how and why once we know the who, what, when, and where. We cannot accept that anything just is (this is God's joke). Hell, look at the way religion has been mutilated. If the creators of our modern religions had known what would have become of their precious philosophies, they would've said "Fuck it, I'd rather get wasted." So what are we to do? Follow someone else's empty theories? No, I doubt it. You see, in this world, there is no such thing as any universal rights or wrongs. No universal blacks or whites. No universal goods or evils. You could argue murder as a universal wrong, but obviously people like Saddam Hussein find it to be quite justified, even right and necessary. So what are we to do? Live as we were intended? Intended by whom? God? He may or may not exist (you may believe He does, but, as previously decided, you do not know, therefore you cannot argue the possibility that He is fictional), and I refuse to live by the teachings of a character as real as Harry Potter or the Holocaust. (Don't get pissy. It was a joke.) Ourselves? That I can do, because I'm aware that I exist. But to what extent do I exist? Am I who I think I am, or am I nothing at all? Is this someone else's dream, or is it my own nightmare? Or am I God, master of My own universe, or even your universe? I suppose anything is possible, but if anything is possible, everything else is not. What lies beyond this galaxy? What lies beyond that? What lies beyond this universe? Another universe? Am I God of that as well? Or is there no universe at all? That must be it! After all, there is no such thing as knowledge, therefore a universe cannot exist, because I don't know it exists. I believe it does, but what's a 50/50 chance worth? Certainly not my entire being. And just because I believe it does, doesn't mean you believe it does. You may live in an entirely different universe, but your universe and my universe have collided in this way. There is no science, there is no math, there is no anything. We are all bits of energy breaking apart at a trillion miles an hour. We are all tiny microscopic balls boiled together into this mess like a pointillist painting. We are nothing but the air we are breathing. Ah ha! We are nothing but digits and numbers, assembled in a womb factory! I have figured it out! Or have I? After all, I cannot know for sure. Neither can you, neither can the top scholar in the world. So we're stuck. Stuck in a moment that may or may not be passing. But then again, that's the why and how. And the why and how don't matter. Only what is.

A friend of mine is terrified of being ordinary (she knows who she is, and if she doesn't, I'll tell her), and I was pondering this as well, with perfection. In an ideal world, everyone would be perfect. But then everyone would be ordinary. And perfection lies in imperfection. So are we all ordinary, and therefore perfect? Or are we all perfect, and therefore ordinary?

Or does any of this even matter?

I guess it boils down to this one sentence, that can wrap up the entire universe and everything in it: Everything can be and nothing is.

Of course, that can easily be contradicted.

    Super fun edit time:

There is no universe, no planet Earth, not even the air you're breathing now. It's all a metaphor.

The universe is not infinite in size. It is infinite in number. You see, I have a universe for myself. And I have a universe for every person I know. And for every person I and someone else knows, there is a universe. We all have an infinite number of universes, and so does every one else. The fun part is that this means anything is possible.

But what's the contradiction? After all, there is always a logical contradiction.

The contradiction is that I do not know if this is true, I only believe it is. And if I do not know it is true, it cannot be true. And if anything were possible, then everything would be impossible.

Once again, the only logical conclusion that can be decided is that everything can be, but nothing is.
