Not sure what the western medical view is, but from the traditional chinese medicine perspective, unexpressed emotions can be a contributing factor in cancer. My guess is that hanging on to negative emotions in general might have the same effect. That said, do you think that you could see your way to not being bitter, no matter how hard you got hit? I'm not so sure any of us could. Hanging on to emotions may be bad, but letting go is often something easier said than done. If you're not bitter about your life, it's probably better not to judge, and to be grateful that life hasn't thrown anything at you that was too much for you to take. You didn't say outright "It's her fault she has cancer because she was bitter", but you came pretty close. There are plenty of people who have awesome attitudes, but they still have cancer. There are also young children who die of cancer, is their attitude really the cause? There are a lot of factors that may cause cancer, and I'm sure that there are factors that are not known. Genetics and exposure to toxins are probably the most powerful. Right now, and this thread, aren't really the time or place to speculate about the causes of Trish's cancer, or to cop an "I told you so" attitude. You may not have intended to seem scornful, but that's how you came across to me. I appreciate that you also included some well-wishing in your post, which seemed sincere. Can we agree to focus on the well-wishing part for now, and maybe give Trish a break for what may be her last days on earth?
Hi. I don't know you since I've only been on HF for a couple of years, but my thoughts are with you regardless. I hope you pull through this and can make it back here to read all these awesome posts from your friends. <3
I'm sorry I don't think I know Trish, but my impression from reading this thread, and in particular this last post is that she was literally saying goodbye. I may be wrong, but maybe she will not be posting or reading here anymore.
do you remember the username interval illusion or luckystripe?...back when you (and i) joined she was luckystripe
Unfortunately, you may be right. It's hard to believe she could have gone that quickly though. If anyone has any updates about Trish, please let us know.
