Professional athletes now have the opportunity and given permission by the International Federation to compete in each sport of the Olympic Games.
Given that the ethos of the Olympian spirit is to compete for the sake of individual excellence and not financial reward, is it right for 'the World's number 1' - who has access to all the resources of corporate sponsorship, to run, play and competes on the same level of a playing field as, 'little Jack and Jill' from the local village town or City as a 'Gifted amateur'?

    Professionals allowed:

Part of the rules change was due to the belief that Communist countries like the former Soviet Union were able to field teams made up of their top athletes 'realesed from conscripted duties - and technically were not getting paid for playing
That meant their best players were competing against the best amateur players (with other Countries' best platers missing out)

With the rule changes it now has each country's best athletes facing off.
    • And, to 'keep it fair', some countries in some sports limit participation to an age limit, like 23 years old for a professional sport like basketball
Although, 18-23 is a long time in Sport

Professionals should be allowed to compete but only if they agree to do so nude … in the true spirit of the Olympics. It’s an either/or thing. Do it naked or do it free. Not both under any circumstance!

They should be because the professionals from around the world compete. There is really not "amateur athletics" anymore sadly enough

    FYI:
The Nude Olympics started in the early 1970s and became an unofficial school tradition for almost 30 years. The nationwide streaking craze of 1974 heightened interest in the Nude Olympics, though Princeton's tradition predated the fad.

Further reseach shows the Topend of Sports = 'Nudolympics'
The Nude Olympics is an annual event that has traditionally been held at Maslin Beach in South Australia (there is another Nude Olympics in Australia). The Nude Olympics was first held in 1983, though the event was canceled for five years after 2007 because of a lack of sponsorship.

It started up again in 2013, though following a letter from the Australian Olympic Committee prohibiting them from using "Olympics'' in the title, it was renamed the Pilwarren Maslin Beach Nudo Lympics

Hmm, well how about this, -
If your income reaches a certain amount of revenue, then an entrance surcharge shoould be required,
The monies received could then be re-distributed into Grass roots level Sports (?)
    .
That way, ALL can compete, and i.e. 'little Johnny' from the local tennis club, could benefit from the investment created by the contributions made by those Top seeded, Grand Slam, Worldwide travelling professionals
= (Never gonna happen, but it's a nice thought)
