The notion that 17 year-olds are 'children' is very much only a recent phase our society is going though, yes. Real children have not yet started puberty naturally ... people who have, aged approximately 10+ are adolescents not children.

in case your eyes or brain are failing you, I said "girls under 16." there is no doubt in my mind that 17 year olds can be ready for a sexual relationship, shit, a fair few 14-15 year olds can be, but simply having entered puberty certainly does not mean someone is ready to have sex.

it seems strange to me that I you need these things explained to you. do you really not see the reasoning behind these laws and limitations?

your mind is still very much developing at 16, even at 18. being a prostitute or child pornstar is not going to do wonders for your psyche, nor is being fucked by a 25 year old with a twisted view on the world.
