i actually grew up in Boerne, north of san antonio, then moved here cause it's hella cheaper...

no way, i went to school near Boerne (TMI) and had a bunch of friends out there! I still party in Fair Oaks and stuff when I come back to town, but now I'm stationed in Austin most of the time. I know exactly where you are though, I know SA like the back of my hand. What the hell do you do for fun there, Whenever I come back it's all house parties and the occasional random dive bar. I hate that the only places to eat past midnight are TC's and whataburger.

uh...i dont do much for fun...lol...all my friends that i had in high school and shortly after all went their separate ways and i just dont meet many people anymore...im bad at making friends i guess lol

and you can eat past midnight at jack in the box, denneys, ihop, wendy's, sonic, whataburger...there's plenty of options ;P

well i mean local places! like in austin we got trudy's, kerbie lane, magnolia. 2am close trudy's and the other 2 are 24/7...it's just so much better than fast food :tongue: and that's just the late night stuff. i'm crazy about local stuff.

 

if they dont have a dollar menu, im generally not gonna eat there

 

i definitely miss las palapas in austin. their tacos are fat....

 

las palapas? i've been there a few times...i was never impressed...

fat tacos? you should go to freebirds of course...like, 1 lbs tacos, on the small end...

try and find a place called "Juan in a Million" up there in austin...i dont know exactly where it's located (a friend took me there once or twice) but if you can find it they have the BEST breakfast taco's ever...just go in and order it with a few tortillas, and you'll be full the entire day...and if it doesnt last that long, well pull out the leftovers cause you're almost guaranteed to have em

I think I saw that place on this show called Man vs. Food and the guy tried to eat I think 8 breakfast tacos, but only finished 4.

 

i dunno about that...whenever i ordered the breakfast tacos they give you a huge plate full of the taco innards (eggs, bacon, cheese, whatever else you asked for) and the tortillas you order separately...then you build your own tacos...

 

Yeh that is what he ate, he tried to eat 8 of the Don Juan El Taco Grande. Sorry to interrupt your foodie conversation with zilla, just thought it was interesting you mentioned that place and I just watched that show

that is way cool...i would have never thought that place would have been on TV...when you walk up to it it looks like a hole in the wall restaurant...hell, even the parking lot gives you that feeling...once you walk inside though, and through the first room and out to the back area it's actually huge, but there's SOOO many people there that it's way crowded...those "hole in the wall" style restaurants always are the best though

 

still dont fully understand what a breakfast taco is.... and Im Mexican
tacos here are usually just denominated by the meat in them, usually all they have is meat, chopped onion and I cant remember what the other things is called and if you feel like it salsa, except tacos al pastor which also contain pineapple

also whats this about getting full on a couple of tacos? usually takes about 6 to 10 tacos to fill me up and I have a small apetite

just getting confused because of the change of something Ive known since childhood or maybe a little indignated... who knows, Im confused

well Im biased, grew up on it, also depends largely where you eat it, I literally spat out the stuff they tried to pass as mexican food in the US, also mexican food is the third most varied so ou should try all of it before you say you dont like it, I personally have some things I dont like and besides its a matter of taste and custom cause when you grow up on something you usually arent too keen on something different,

 

ive tried it all its just i dont like the kinda spices and stuff used.... im a shitty mexican i dont even like my own food lol i should be asain cuz i loveee korean food lol
