I completly agree with the_sweet, but I will also say that I would rather have way less clothes and know that they're from sources that don't use sweat shops than shop at old navy, gap or BR
Huh,I must have lived a sheltered life because I've never been inside any of those stores...not Old Navy,Gap,or Banana Republic. I don't know anything about their clothing(besides those creepy commercials)...but I won't knowingly buy clothing that comes from a sweatshop anyways. The keyword there is knowingly...because I am sure so many of us have,at one time or another, happily bought retail clothing thinking it was all good. When in reality, sometimes the stores use sweatshops.
_I think fashion is cyclical & since the bohemian style was fairly popular it simply returned, just like many other fashion trends and stores like Old Navy carry things that are in demand. I would be pissed if I came up w/a completely original style & someone mass produced it & claimed it as their own, not because mainstream decided Bohemian Chic & Hippie Chic are suddenly, once again, 'in'.
yea it seems to be the style now....bohemian. i guess we are trend setters? pfft, it will be over by the summer. i just love how these girls caked in makeup ask me, "ohhh where'd u get that skirt! i luvv it!" and i'm like...."uh i made it". then they are like "oh." and walk away. hah.
That's funny! You would think if they wanted the real bohemian style, they wouldn't be caked in the make-up. Haha! But, everyone's right, it will be over by the summer... it's all good.
fuck old navy. even if i did like anything there, i wouldnt set foot in there if someone was holding a gun to my head. i hate all this fake bohemian crap with all the sequins and shit. its exploitation. old navy can suck a nut.
what? yall are fuckin crazy, go there if you like what they got and dont if you dont damn. not that hard. just like yall with wal mart shit
ive only seen a couple of your posts, but i can already tell that youre a fucking moron. Seriously, stop posting. nobody wants to hear it.
i have seen alot of bohemian stuff in popular stores lately..but its kinda a preppy bohemian...it really annoys me but o well..it will pass...it always does..but it really is stupid..esspecially cause i know ppl who buy that stuff while they make fun of me for being a hippie...lol
dont worry bout me and stay off my nuts ho. moron? you dont know shit bout me but im gonna let you go ahead and judge
Really, does it matter? I shop at Old Navy *gasp* *shurgs* I like the pants and stuff so be it i shop at mainstream stores okay*shurgs*I like it, I buy it, and I wear it. I grew out of my Goth/Punk Elite stage already and realized its a Pain in the arse and Expensive to worry about it. Its just clothes seriously.... *GOD i hate the commericals with passion*
I'm probably in the minority here, but i can honestly say that i'm kind of psyched to see that whole bohemian/ ethnic style "in" again. Last time (late 80's) was so long ago that a lot of my favorite things have gotten totally ragged, lost or ruined. I've been happily stocking up on a few select cute little hippie skirts, indian kaftans, beaded tops, etc i've found around, and i can't help but to be anticipating all of those end-of-the-season clearance sales, and, down the road when the stuff is really "out", the second-hand stores will be filled with all sorts of dirt-cheap fun stuff that i love again. (Sidenote: as a tie-dyer, my business has been flourishing this spring... another bonus!) Fashion is so cyclical... this fleeting little moment of hippiedom isn't worth getting worked up over. Just long enough to pick up a few cute things before it becomes passé to the mainstream. It doesn't bother me too much to see little crunchy-wannabe's copping the style. For one thing they wear the style in such a way (i.e. makeup, trendy accessories etc.) that one cannot mistake them for anything other than trendy. Next year while they're filling their closets with the next "In Thing", i'll still be wearing with pride my mom's patchwork skirt from the 60's, my very favorite flowy indian skirt from the 80's, and now add to that my new cute little spinny tj maxx bargain skirt. With sequins.. !
