I say the "statutory rape" thing is waaayyyy outta control and half the horseshit of the "victimized state" is social conditioning.

Most of these same puritan non-thinkers want to charge the same 15 year old as an adult when it comes to murder (the 15 yo being the alleged murderer), but consider them too ignorant to consent and/or iniate sexual relations.

Which most of us know is bogus, but are afraid to admit it. Well, I just did it for us. So there.

uhm I don't think it has a thing to do with it. I always said I would set the limit at 40 but have met some pretty remarkable people over 40 who I would consider. I go for mind not for age.

AS far as Wiz is concerned i made it clear from my last posts that i dont have an opinion either way on his personal life and to be truthful couldnt care less if he intended to marry a 16yr old..... its his life...

But i would be concerned if my daughter came home with a 54yr old man at 19.. not because as Wiz's fiance so immaturely put it... my limited relationship with my daughter.

My daughter has been with her 1st boyfriend for over 6 months...hes 33yrs old... and the fact that hes a lot nearer my age than hers doesnt bother me at all.... 14yrs age difference is nothing and they could happily spend many years together....

But a 35yr age gap???? what sort of future would my daughter have?.. widowed before she was 40...possibly younger... or worse....nursing an 80+ maybe at just 45yrs old and having no life of her own....

as i said before...these are comments about how i'd feel about my daughter.... so i would appreciate it if the Wiz or his fiance didnt attack me for it this time....they were so on the defensive they failed to actualy read my posts where i clearly stated i had no opinions on their relationship. i really couldnt care less about what you guys are up to. So if either of you want to misquote me again.....feel free.....but i wont be so polite in my reply next time.

Having been an ER nurse for a while, I know some great jokes/stories about most of the above but I will spare you the experience. Humor is a defense mechanism. People who deal with horrible things everyday would not stay sane without it.

i do agree to some extent that our relationship with our fathers DOES influence how we perceive the opposite sex and what we wish for in a partner. after all, it's the most normal relationship we know, right? i'm thrilled that dave is the one i'm raising my daughters with, because he will be their blueprint for the acceptable male, and he's a spectacular specimen. however, he's absolutely nothing like my father, my stepfather or any other male in my life. i wen thte opposite direction of the men in my life in order to find an acceptable one. but i'm still influenced by my male role-models in my choice of mate, just in the opposite direction.

 

Many men go after very young women because it's safe. Young girls are easier to impress and control.

Age is more than just a number, it's a hugely different quantity of life experience.

 

Where do you choose to draw the line? Yes, it's absurd that it's illegal for a 20 year old to have sex with a 17 year old, but is it absurd that there are laws that criminalize a 30 year old having sex with a 15 year old? A 15 year old female is an adult in terms of physical development, but if she was your daughter, you'd be out for blood if an adult man was trying to fuck her. Children do need to be protected from the people that readily prey on them. 18 is arbitrary, but it would be much worse if there was no law at all. If a man just can't possibly survive without fucking girls that are under 18, he has failed at life.

 

also, when you look at it from an evolustionary standpoint, the younger women are more fecund and typically healthier. we ARE still animals, you know. and for a lot of women, older men are more attractive because, as my mom loved to point out, "they build the best nests." women can no more help desiring a financially secure, emotionally mature man than a man can help desiring a physically beautiful woman.
