The Okra Festival started as a small community event celebrating the only crop that survived an unusually hot summer in 2000. More than a decade later, it is one of the highlights of the summer season, featuring local food, music and cultural arts. Event is held annually on the last Saturday in August.

Located in Burkville, AL. Take State Hwy 80 west, 16 miles west of Montgomery Regional Airport turn left on State Hwy 21 south. 1.8 miles, event on left adjacent to daycare center at 4560 Highway 21.
