This album by J.J. Cale is one of the best I own. This is one of those old loves that happen to get rediscovered. I'm so sorry I ever stopped listening to it. This guy is some goooood funky cajun/blues. Let me know your thoughts on 'Okie' if you listen to it. 1. Cryin 2. I'll Be There ( If You Ever Want Me) 3. Starbound 4. Rock And Roll Records 5. The Old Man And Me 6. Everlovin' Woman 7.Cajun Moon 8. I'd Like To Love You Baby 9. Anyway The Wind Blows 10. Precious Memories 11. Okie 12. I Got The Same Old Blues
don't own any cale now, I lost track in the vinyl to disc revolution, but I love his stuff. He came through in August promoting his latest and my friends (Jimmy the drummer and Rocky the piano man-I know them from bar-giging bands in Oklahoma--gotta do something when he is not touring) introduced me. The night was fantastic. The room was good, crowd a bit sparse but really into it.
JJ Cale makes great tracks to mellow on down to; amongst fave tracks are: Cajun Moon After midnight (so laid back cf Clapton's furiously paced but fine cover) Call me the breeze Sensitive kind (also covered by Santana)
