Whether she's real or not doesn't really matter.

I suggest looking at his facial expressions when you're doing it. If it looks like he's uncomfortable, stop. Maybe later that night he'll ask, "Why'd you stop?" or something like that, and you can say, "I was worried that you might of not liked what I was doing." If he doesn't seem to care that you stopped, you can either stop it in general, or ask him if what you were doing was okay. If you're comfortable enough to have sex with him and help him raise his kid with him, I think it's okay for you to ask him about this.

Though it may seem like it, it's not rocket science. Just ask him about it or drop it.
