Ok so..please humour me with a few answers

What I was trying to say is, the war is causing many in the middle-east to hate the U.S.

That hate is used by terrorists groups to recruit more members. The more that hate our occupation the more members these terrorists groups get.

And believe me, i make NO argument for the terrorists. You seem to think that just because a person is againt the war that they are arguing for the terrorists. That is just not the case.

 

So starfly says that saddam was not that bad realy ?? so we should not realy have 'invaded' ??

You say because we attacked they hate us even more...but they kill their own people in the cross fire or just indiscrimanatly ??... and are making the region even more unstable anyway... i guess the new iraqi goverment that is slowly being put in place are merely puppets for (ofcourse) the american goverment ??.


I think anti war people are making a case for them ... because the vast majority of iraqis are pleased to have gotten rid of saddam..its only the terrorist fundementalists that can't/won't be able to use the region for their own bidding now that it is a more democratic place... giving their mad tacticts political currency by denouncing what the americans and many many many other nations (lets not forget) are doing is not fair.

I think saddam did a good job of convincing himself that his countrymen liked him and hid the poverty/murder/and pain behind vast palaces and tokenesque westernised streets.

I pointed out that you could also say pro-war people were doing the same.

I never said that Saddam was a good person or that Iraqi's liked him.

Coveing it all in religeon is just another gloss of legitamicy..saying your anti-iraq war is another possible lie... its a mixture of anti bush anti blair mixed in with no war in our name . I am just talking in general terms ... not you (Sera Michele) in particular honestly.. just something to think about.

You may have aired some ideas concerning guns or our role in the war or perhaps the results of the anti-bush/anti-war stance which are unfavorable to some people, but I have yet to see you be mean or unreasonable or start name-calling. It looks to me like you are reading the posts of others and thinking about what they are writing.

This is one of the very few genuine dialogues cocerning different opinions about the war where people are actually communicating and not just butting heads. I think you should get an award for starting this thread considering the way it thread has progressed.

I want to know who is throwing bad rep at you over this thread (I can't speak to the other threads you post to, since I haven't read most of them). No one should be penalizing you for your ideas or conduct on this thread. That's just bad form and not at all what the rep system should be about. Those people should be ashamed of themselves.

 

I think so..but i did not keep track of my karmic balance to be honest.. i saw a thread and checked it out ..it was way off. Any people i may have rubbed up the wrong way i think i have made them think i am not a complete a/hole .. but you never know what people think and do behind your back.. i do hope the people i have got to know a little within a few posts see me as a ok poster ... what the people that don't get me or don't wish to communicate with me do , well i have no control over that.
