Yeah... I really did like Xenia Some really good memories there I was close to family but far enough away it was nice There was always something to do I really cant put my finger on it - but it was nice Maybe it was just the fact that all the other places I have lived have been so damned oppressive => I've never seen Gummo and yes, its based on Xenia after the 1974 tornadoe but no, that wasnt Xenia (at least to my knowledge) I've heard it actually made Xenia seem worse than it is
My buddy is a tattoo artist, works out of his house. He does some really great work. Living under a rock.... kind of. lol. He keeps to himself, though he would like others to believe otherwise. He's a pretty big guy, about 6' tall, on the heavy side. He walks with a cane or a limp. I'm all the way down in southeastern Ohio, Gallia County, right on the Ohio River. I border Pt. Pleasant, WV... the place where the Mothman sightings took place back in the late sixties. Anybody out my way?
Not that I know of... he runs his shop out of his home, as far as I know. He and I aren't on speaking terms now, so I don't know what's up with him other than the fact that he has a new gf. (That was all I needed to know... lol.) It is conceivable, though, because he could've easily started a place. What's the place called? I can tell you if it's him.
Strange, I found him trying to figure out the name of the place haha. I'm guessing the girl your talking about is named Aimee, yeah?
Yeah, Aimee. That's the GF, I'm guessing. He PMed me on myspace. He's still denying he's with her to me! I think I know why he opened the shop... If so, it's possible that he's an idiot.
Wow. Lots of people near Dayton. Very cool! Any of you check out the drum circles in Yellow Springs? Go to any shows here in Dayton?
OM Valley rainbow family had a drumcircle and potluck dinner at John Bryan about ten or fifteen years ago that I attended, it was nice. We used to go up there on occasion to collect fossils from a site nearby (NOT in the park!) and to hike the gorge trails, etc. Beautiful area. There's another gorge not far from there... Cedarville Gorge. Same basic rock layers, Cedarville dolomite etc. Yellow Springs is a nice little town, great bookstores and an awesome candy shop. I saw a VERY old man walking down the street with a mj leaf tee shirt once... I'd propose a meet-up there, but I have no car, walk to/from work, and live near Cincinnati. I should read back through this thread and see if there are enough of us in SW Ohio to propose a meet-up sometime... PS- Feel free to msg me if any of you are close and want to try to meet up sometime this summer. Our transportation may be very limited, though...
Attended the OM Valley Regional Gathering at Wayne National Forest in 93. Received some invites to other events for about a year or two after but since then haven't heard much. I second the proposal for some sort of gathering for the Southern Ohioians!
im in mt gilead about 30 mi. north of delaware. we go to yellow springs all the time in the warmer months. i love the trails there. and the town is beautiful.
My wife and I are going to be camping in southwest Ohio, along the Little Miami River in Warren County, the last three days of May (the weekend after Mem day). If any of you Ohio folks want to join us, just send me a PM, and I'll give details and stuff.
Columbus, Ohio here. Just got back from Hookahville. Can't wait for the rest of the festivals this summer! Is this a great state or what!
