the goblin was at an age where it didn't really matter anymore, saying "...well, do you think a woman would actually make this many spelling mistakes in her posts, so no, my wife still asks me to take out the trash showing that I have mastered certain household basics, ie those cleaning chores, oh, and how to use a microwave oven too, therefore I feel myself to be somewhat evolved for the male of the species now, though it would seem that all her efforts to evolve me further from there then have fallen rather short of her aspirations towards me..."

"That picture really looks like me flea" said Dejavu, "except for the mask, and the bathroom, I almost look peaceful." Dejavu was not in two, but several minds as to how he should apply himself online. A part of him wanted not to be there at all. He considered that his words could be of help to people beyond his considerations, that they could inspire others to their own, or ward them away from putting their life into words depending on their stages of life. "Forumland, what are you?" he asked. "A complex for completed pieces? A tag covered playground? Despite all the time we put into you, doesn't art upon your endless canvas elude us here most of all? You are still a meeting place in any case, aren't you?!" Dejavu wasn't expecting a reply, but the slot spoke up. "Get it over with Dejavu, unless you've got anything else to feed me. I know you think it's hard to feed the hungry in here without a credit card, but honestly, you mustn't be trying hard enough." Dejavu then posted this, postmarked whenever, as evidence against all slots and their voracious appetite for our better judgement.

("....beautiful post dejavu, that one is definitely definitive of your style now..." went the goblin happy that he had read it, adding "...this livewriting lark is really making headways, where our readership is on the ups and where our number is slowly expanding...")

the goblin simplified it by saying "...just have a talk to someone who is dying of cancer, or who has lupus, or even someone facing plain old age at this point, by it you will see for yourself in your own situation clearer..." in fact, the goblin was just repeating now what he had written before, continuing "...no point in compromising in my view, thinking that a girlfriend, or friends, or money, and any of those things will fill the hole where you yourself should be, simply until you can live without them, you are not ready for them is my philosophy, since they are just sideshows here, mere temporary externals at best..."

To the goblin "time" always seemed like some solar-system where at its center had to be one's own lifetime that never really seemed to move at all, and then there were all those years, near that center then, that moved ever so very slowly, beyond them were more rapid months that marked the changing of the seasons, further out were passing weeks, beyond them rushing days of work or play, then hours that marked the changing of the daylight, out on to those minutes, ticking seconds on until, out at the very outmost reaches of time's vast solar-system now, tiny moments whizzed by in an instant, “...looking back, I try to tell myself that I can actually remember my life now yet I know I'm as lying to myself about it, simply, even if I could clearly remember everything that had happened to me, there simply isn't the time to remember it in real time anyway...” ventured the goblin noting that one's memories were just few and far between then

the goblin is boldly defending his mind from the treadmill of its reality again, and although hints of the dull day without did peculate through of course, yet within him, they were never quite enough to sway the goblin form his heightened state of daydreaming detachment, saying "...well, if I become what I do, then this rat race wins by it, for that dailylife would make madame bovarys of us all if ever it could but I am me by my pen here..."

    repost from elsewhere,

ah no, the goblin never laid claim to anything, no, his sole reason for being here was his need to feed, simply whether good or bad or whatever he just needed others here to spur him into creating posts, that's all, saying "...so I get hassled, edited, deleted and banned, but the posts are duplicated even before I post them, where my being anonymous what have I to prove or defend here...", the goblin paused then, looked over his text once more, sipped his coffee, and then continued "...truth is, that sooner or later, and in spite of all my best efforts too, forumland just moves on anyway, where sites and servers migrate and fold like individual trees in some enormous forest, meaning that one has to anticipate this and nestle amongst those tree like forums now, doing reposts, rehashes, and endless improvisations upon the originals, keeping an eye of rapport back too, why, to know their worth perhaps but more likely just to know oneself by them, anyway it's too late to belittle me now if only because we're the same here on this same "journey to self" now, one's "journey to death" if you prefer to think that way, for what can you possible say to me about me that changes your own tally/benchmark now, simply you heckle me, yes, but when those heckles end and the dust settles, the slot still says "ok, other people are whatever but what have you posted of yourself now for the time that you've been here"..."

...will just sneak this one in here then...

Jats brushes the sawdust from his pants and returns to the slot "...had to laugh when I heard that the governments latest response is to get the police to brush up on firing rubber bullets and to get practising with their water cannons, at last then, they're ready to show their true colours preparing to fire on unarmed civilians now, whereas in the next breath they will be appalled at the same such scenes currently being used by murderous dictatorships in the Middle East..." sipping his Tea Jats pauses to send off more Invoices to politely rob the rich with a thank you very much "...and in the same breath they keep telling us how many millions all this is costing the tax payer, for our benefit, to keep us safe, though not keeping up with the simple math that they might as well have just not hiked up the tuition fees in the first place which was the catalyst, so it makes you wonder that these elitist right wing wankers who have finally wormed their way back into power now by lying, cheating and doublespeaking don't want the masses to be educated for some reason, but, it's a bit late for that, plenty know what they are about, and so let them fire that first bullet, let the sleepers awake, and lets see the right bits of London burning next time..." and with a couple of clicks The Clash echo from the walls of the little cottage by the canal now with Jats remembering how the youth were going to bring down the establishment and change the world until slowly, quietly, they never felt so much alike, like-a like-a

("...great posts..." went the goblin enjoying the input)

repost from elsewhere, the "what are you doing" thread

the goblin is frantically chasing his own tail with a passion, as if seeking some sort of absolution from the moneygod through his constant "meeting of his bills on time, in full, and without complaint", somehow knowing too that this discipline, of self sacrifice for the greater good of his family, was ever expected of him now, yet he also understood that man wasn't actually brought forth onto this earth just to pay the bills here, though that opinion never changed the goblin's reality, simply he lived in dailylife and thus those bills still had to be met and he was there to meet them, simply dailylife was like caesar perhaps where the goblin rendered unto caesar then, but facing the slot anonymously like this was outside his dailylife where simply it was his journey to self that he rendered to something within instead and in spite of dailylife and its price

the goblin is weighing the weather against its likely outcome, where he sees the rain today as a bit of rest bite, saying "...people are like food, one hungers for them after being alone, yes, but all human contact is a digestion process, where meeting too many of them can lead to one feeling full, or even sick of them, signs of which are avoiding eye contact, becoming over-reactive, and keeping conversation to the job in hand, etc., ...", in fact, the goblin called this problem of over-exposure to people as becoming people sick where he loved his job, since most people were interesting enough, yet becoming people sick was unavoidable in the long run, "...simply, one pays attention whenever talking with someone, where one's attention credit can soon turn into attention debt where it is not replenished by rest, at which point one's mind turns on the auto pilot and just goes though the motions..." mentioned the goblin at it, knowing it only needed a few days off to replenish things here, not that he would get that rest though, for now even his auto pilot was beginning to give out he felt, though admittedly he hadn't quite got to the stage where he was wading through the humans with a japanese sword chopping off their heads then, saying "...well apparently that pleasure comes a bit later in the course of things, meanwhile I'm just not you see me I suppose..."

"...you mean, "why the persona" perhaps..." smiled the goblin, continuing "...well probably because forumland can offer one a form of socialization that one's dailylife can't, and what's wrong with that I wonder, after all it's still socialization by it, and far better than just being stuck in some merlin's cave shunned as "old" in front of the television or given a book to book to read..." mentioned the goblin fully understanding his need for mental contact here, adding "...so old young is old long as they say, but at least forumland offers one an ageless faceless socialization now, so no, I guess the only question that remains here is how to create that ageless faceless persona to go with forumland here, so I guess that's why there is a goblin amongst you now, where my alter-ego is personified by it perhaps..."

"...I suppose that regardless of whether one's life is actually interesting or otherwise, if one isn't writing it down, one is merely trusting everything to one's slowly fading memory of past events..." ventured the goblin at it, knowing too, that writing was the his way of keeping things, however old in themselves, fresh in his mind now, meaning the goblin's present ghosts of the past were those based on his memories, yes, but that those ghosts of the past were as if in his present now, he continued "...writing reinforces one's memory in a way that most normal people wouldn't experience let alone understand here, dreams too, have become especially vivid of late, so perhaps in writing one talks to one's past and past seems to talk back, no not "madness" but hardly "sanity" either, no something more just "borderline" perhaps, or the mere result of constantly writing things out of oneself..."

"...I am striving to think up the ultimate post over a meaningful coffee..." mentioned the the goblin, continuing "...you know, the kind of post that comes across as the very vindication of ones own existence to oneself here, though until then, I am enjoying my day off..." in fact, the goblin understood that the more one enjoys one's time off the faster that time will pass then, therefore he was not trying to enjoy his time too much for fear of its rushing too quickly upon him

although the goblin knows that technically it's not a sexual practice in itself, he just concludes something by saying "...much as I love indian food, which I do, it does have me questioning the concept of virginity the day after...", followed by "...somehow that gallant phrase "for it is better to die on ones seat than live on without curries" springs to mind here though on second thoughts I had better not go into details I feel..."

yes there were scores of posts, just as there were scores of posters too, the goblin noted, but somehow whenever the goblin himself, looked at the slot writing something, there was that feeling of being utterly alone reaching in and writing out, so the goblin just repeated "...just it has to be me or it isn't honest...", in fact, the goblin was in this respect alone with everyone else here, concluding "...yes one reads with everyone but one posts alone, just like one lives with everyone else too, though one dies in one's own turn when that time comes, where that too is ever by oneself..."

"...the trouble with pornography is that, much like one's body builds up a resistance to drugs, one's libido builds up a resistance to visual stimulant where one's libido is after all simply a trigger mechanism and something beyond one's decision that is, no not just that myself as well as spouse becomes less attractive but more because ones own body isn't getting any younger where ones libido needs activation to work, where if one's libido is too aroused one risks premature ejaculation, whereas if it is too weak one has no ejaculation then..." mentioned the goblin, adding "...so I feel that the older one gets the more one has take into account ones own trigger mechanism here, avoiding those two extremes of no stimulation resulting in no ejaculation, or over stimulation resulting in an ever increasing need for the stimulant then, anyway being a man are not easy..."

the goblin is thinking about those 100 something gypsies that now wanted to leave northern ireland through fear of violence that had been meted out against them, thinking too that other areas will soon latch onto this method to rid themselves of their gypsies now, and then that same violence will be used on other minorities in their turn, "...this is how it all starts then, authoritarianism starts both justifiably and innocently enough, where both professional begging in itself and the forcing of one's children into beg are intolerable to society, so almost naturally it leads to that old practice of "stoning the gypsies out of town" here..." mentioned the goblin thinking back to germany in the 1930s, where too, the gypsies were rounded up, incarcerated, and finally killed off, adding "...just that the situation today has its parallels though I hope we've learned better than that then..."

"and not only Gypsies, goblin." The little mouse stares into the fire as she thinks of roaring furnaces, or cannisters zyklon B and human lives wasted for the twisted notions of one man. One man who compelled them all. "His words, and his alone drove nations to madness and turn on itself." She sighs as she thinks how those tracks brought those who had been made redundant to their final destination after a journey they did not believe could be true. But the believers always think they're right even when proven wrong, then again that is why it is called 'believe' because faith needs no proof. Disregards it even especially when it contradicts.

repost from elsewhere, the "how did you find our forum" thread

the goblin remembers it even now, that fateful internet search then, and how in the late evening everything had just ushered him to his desk once more where, armed only with the strongest of coffees and an aspiring intellect, the goblin clearly understood upon linking up his computer, that what he actually encountered here was some vast void of the internet entered through the tiniest of portals, that is, he was just another IP address on a server somewhere, so he voiced slowly "...funny how the insignificance of the individual is so obvious here, ah but you, o great Internet, do not exist without me, or at least without someone to observe you still, simply your realm collapses without these millions of us insignificant selves here...", harry lime's words perhaps, but nothing was ever new then, as the goblin then typed into the google search bar random stuff entering it with a touch of his index finger on the "return" button, the rest was just fate, who knows perhaps it had been fate all along
