I'm typing this from my voice recognition software. This actually works pretty well, I'm very impressed. It allows you to train it by examining your documents to learn how you write. It is going to take a while to get used to, but I think it will work pretty well.

I'm smoking bongs and playing Halo today. Winter break isn't so bad though I really want to get back to the frat life already.

Did you have to edit that or re-speak parts because it didn't get it right?

Yes, but only because I trailed off mid sentence because I hadn't thought about what I wanted to write. I'll have to get better at thinking about what I want to say before I start writing. I also had a bit of trouble because I'm still learning the voice commands for punctuation and making corrections and such. The program I'm using is called Dragon NaturallySpeaking, it's the one that my school recommends for anyone who needs speech-to-text software.

I'd be scared that my essays would take on a tyrannical, oratory aspect.I think writing that is spoken and transcribed by a computer will turn out different to that which is written or typed.Need to be aware of that.Sounds like a good idea though if that's what you need.Thankfully my essay writing days are over.

Yeah, the real test will be the first time I try to write an essay with it. I'm not sure if I'll be able to train myself to dictate in the same manner that I write. I think the first couple of times will involve a lot more editing and revision than usual.

i could see a benefit in using voice to text, but not for an essay.. brainstorming topics, or tasks, or to do lists. so that you can bounce them back off yourself (instead of needing someone to listen to you to give you feedback) thats where it would be useful. i always go back and reread essays as im writing them.

on a different note- what would you require in a tiny house? what obstacles would you foresee? i would have to have an adequate kitchen, and food storage, and also some crafting storage. i would probably keep yarns, paints, and fabric for specific projects. i would need a dedicated craft working space though. and a tub i can sit in, even if i cant stretch out. id like to do a half barrel type of tub. and i would not want a ladder that moves, i would much rather it be stairs with storage underneath.

Kitchen would be the big thing for me. I'd need enough room for storage for dry food (we tend to keep a lot on hand - different rices, beans, pastas, etc.) and enough counter space to prepare food. My wife would be the same as you, the tub is a deal-breaker for her.

But I would clear away some of that clutter to make room for work space.
