Gettin' the house up to temp, using both furnace and wood stove is a trip... Wonder if I should add another woodstove to the mix? I have 2 more sitting around here... Chimney guy left me with some extra pipe. Hmmm...


Yesterday I got a propane fired water heater from the ReStore, 6 years old/50 Gallon/$125... And it has high temperature inlet water capability, tested to 400f... like the feed from the hot water loop in the wood furnace which would be about half that. The hot water heater is basically a holding tank and pressure regulator, it probably won't actually run much. This feeds the radiant heat in the master bedroom and bath using the old pump from the boiler system. This will run in parallel to a newer version of the electric hot water heater I have now for hot water in the rest of the house.

did you ever end up getting a block heater?...so far mine have started ok even though this is way colder than usual.

 

oh man. I ate those cream puffs on an empty stomach last night and it was just awful. I was up all night feeling terrible! that's what I get for poor eating!

I'm off to my teacher's house for a voice lesson. it's kind of far, but she owes me three, and considering it's through school and I get no refund for lost lessons, I'm sure as hell getting mine in!

 

goddamned if I didn't lose power again.....this time I have the generator going but only 24 hrs of gas.......gonna have to huddle up if I gonna spend new years eve with no power 7000 watts.....no clue what that translates to......how many watts is my lappy and 2 modems using...should I hardwire for the night and lose the wireless modem so I can have a lamp on later so who's going to be online tonight the lonelyhearts club

not yet. started okay every morning, took longer than normal on the couple -27C days though. still thinking about one just so that the engine is already warmed up and the heat will kick in quicker though.

 

Fuck it.I'm going to pop a few Klonopin and go to the local pub just to be with some people.Will probably have something to eat.Then crawl back to my sleeping bag and tomorrow's another day.
