Well, I'm having to join the going-to-a-funeral club. My bff's father died Sat. night and his funeral is tomorrow. I'm glad I was already scheduled to be off tomorrow.

 

fancy Italian restaurant called fratecellis Italian grill or something close to that .....Appleby a few miles north of the qew....then funeral....grant south of the highway...burlingtoni is massive now....holy shit.....talk about your urban sprawl

Those look excellent, and making that type of pastry takes skill.

 

It was very easy, surprisingly! The pastries only took an hour and a half.
hot water and butter, add flour. then add some eggs and vanilla.
bake real high for a bit, then lower the temp. they hollow out perfectly.

the filling is cream cheese, sugar, sour cream, and whipped cream

Oh I think I've heard about that place, it's pretty new. My parents ate there and said it was really good, but they wouldn't go back because it was super busy.

Burlington has expanded a lot in the last few years. At one point it was said that there would be no development north of highway 5, but that has obviously been forgotten. I don't even know most of the new sub-divisions that have been built in the last 5-6 years up there. All kinds of new parks and schools to go along with the cookie-cutter homes. The traffic has also been really bad. The only good thing about it for me is that the family business is flooring, and more people = more flooring.

When we move back we're planning on avoiding Burlington. I think we'll end up in Guelph.

 

My family is wonderful, yet they are massively frustrating sometimes. Like most peoples families, I imagine. My brother is such a lazy ****. Told him I was gonna go take first shower, kid runs up uses bathroom leave it a massive fucking mess and won't even crack a window. Just trying to be bigger man and not let stuff like that get to me, however it gets to the point where I wanna kick his teeth in, obviously not over bathroom issue, over his general arrogance and hugely inflated ego.

All good though. If I can get my goddaughter back at her parents and my other cousins back over there too, I'm going to smoke rest of my bud :sifone:

i'm out of bud, kind of wish I kept enough to smoke a midnight joint tonight, but oh well.

just planning on staying in tonight with my wife now. we're going to drink wine and watch a bunch of episodes of the wire. On the 4th or 5th episode now, it's awesome.

 

Jenn my birthday is in 4 days. I am still attempting to save the very last bowl for then, but could do with a new years toke! I probably won't get a chance to smoke today anyway, looking after a super inquisitive 2 year old who constantly asks questions is pretty demanding. Hehe.

I fucked up ordering at the restaurant.......I ordered their wood fired gourmet pizza....I didn't like mine....my kid had a lobster pizza....he loved it but he tasted min and said mine wasn't nearly as good as his

he musta got the experienced cook and I got the new guy....

I spent 2 weeks of my grocery budget on 1 fucking dinner so you will hear me posting about hot dogs for a while

my brother in law just got a job as an ice road trucker.....double tankers....he leaves in 2 weeks for alberta

here is my road yesterday morning when I left the city.....perfect ice rink for 2 kilometers
