Oh and I do agree that this is that chat thread, all us regulars do post random shit about out lives, and that is exactly the point. W also post intellectual stuff as well. There are many other sub forums and forums that are less social based and more question/answer oriented, which is ok too! Please no drama in SL though. That's the worst (but sometimes laughable) part of forums.

 

Exactly. I'd almost rather hear about all of your lives as opposed to discussing a topic that could lead to debate. And as far as the "intelligence" of posts? That's just rude. We all have our own specialties. I'm not going to spend my time posting about music theory when very few people here are going to understand it. Just like I don't want rocket science to be discussed because then I won't understand!

ive been trying to get drunk for a little while. but people keep calling me for shit.

 

its zero degrees out today and i been thinking i should probably open up the frozen garden hose tap to see if i can unthaw it and drain like i was supposed to do a few months ago before it pops....dropping 20 degrees overnight and i remembered just in time....got it open and just small drops then all of a sudden it was all clear ...so i went and got my hose to do that heater core flush i should have done months ago...so now my truck has good heat and the tap is all drained and safe for the rest of winter

got the slushy stuff all plowed from the driveway too so tomorrow it will be frozen nice and smooth

one of my friends has weird looking fancy chickens...i think she even wins shows with them

i have some of her turkeys and a cow in my pics but i never bothered with the chickens because they tend to stay in the coops and i cant go in there ...i like breathing fresh air

 

When I was a kid my grandma I lived with had ducks. I got to watch the baby ducks hatch

She also had two turkeys. One of them got their head bitten off by the neighbor dog.

 

i WILL have chickens, i just dont yet i want Rhode Island Reds and Buff Orpingtons. and meat rabbits. and when i have my farm (long term goal ) i will definitely have Nigerian Dwarf Goats and American Guinea Hogs. and maybe ducks. maybe lots of things, lol.

my neighbors were telling me that their family's white rabbits were stolen during WW2, but their black rabbits were spared because the soldiers couldnt see them in the dark.

i guess most rec stores are going to be in denver (so far) but there is one going in up near the casinos. Annie Oakley's is a general store in the front, and a pot shop in the back. it was medicinal, so i guess they will shift to rec, but because its a small town they might be able to maintain both aspects. it seems like they want to keep them separate, but i dont think thats logical. its not that hard to make some sales tax free from the same shop, i used to do it for teachers and small business owners when i worked in the fabric store.

 

I got a new merit badge today... Double Widow Maker Badge.


Widow maker is when you cut down a tree and it hangs in another tree. Called a Widow Maker for obvious reasons.

I was going to cut this dead pine, wood is perfect right now, been studying it for awhile. I wanted to cut it to fall across the driveway but that was up hill and against the lean of the tree... Scratch that. So if I take it the other way it should just clear that scrub locust and miss the live pine.

Okay, Don't want the locust there anyways. Cut it high and let it... SPLIT ! Fuck! Back away, watch it fall and both get hung in the live pine tree.

Here's where you think I'm really fucked. I am, but disregard that. I under cut the dead pine and then top cut every 4 feet or so, just barely breaking through and walked that pine down like a caterpillar... :2thumbsup:

Someone might have thought I'd done this before. Anyways... Don't try this at home.


The very top part will be pulled out with a rope and the John Deere tomorrow, Locust will come down when that happens. This is nowhere near any public traffic, if it falls, it falls, easier to clean up.

Now I have kindling for the season and another part of the cleanup begins. There's a crapload of dead wood around here that needs cleaned up, A lot of it is great firewood still. If I get to it in time.
