A lady was telling me $2 Bill's are sometimes worth something. The ones printed since 1976, with the Signing of the Declaration of Independence on the back, are worth (dramatic pause...) TWO DOLLARS PEOPLE. They couldn't possibly be worth more. No exceptions. The US federal reserve makes a limited amount, grandparents usually give them out as gifts. And if their grandchildren don't hold onto them, they usually end up in the banks. And as one coin dealer once told me, they collect dust there, because there's nothing they can do with them. But if you really want some, ask your bank. They'd love for you to take them off their hands (not for free of course—but you never know). Some companies print all kinds of weird stuff on them. They're still worth $2. Plus they're just defacing money, which is really sad, I think. Now if you find a $2 bill with Monticello on the back, issuance ended in 1966, that would be worth something. Indeed.
I've got a few of the older ones, and a lot of new ones in an envelope. Great gag gifts! But I'll hang on to the older ones
In the late 70’s for my wife’s birthday I got her a book she wanted. I also mixed in I think about 50 two dollar bills in the pages, which was a lot back then for low budget newlyweds.
