    The potential problem arises when we leave it up to the police and their corporate overlords to define what constitutes "lawful" and when it is the police who are instigating violence and entrapping those engaged in civil disobedience by luring them to location to justify arresting them. I am instantly skeptical and suspicious of any seated major politician who professes any support for the movement. My sense is that such political characters are playing the protest for purposes other than true reform and should be at the very top of the list of people who need to go..

    Unlawful? I'll tell you what's unlawful. The war in Afghanistan is unlawful.

    If you're referring to what I said about Atlanta and Mayor Reed, the link I placed in the post explains why his opinion is important to Occupy Atlanta. The city wanted to put the protesters out of the park and Mayor Reed stepped up to support the Occupation.

    I am at OWS. It is the most amazing thing I have seen in my life. We are witnessing a self-regulating community being born in the very belly of the beast we are fighting against. It is an empowering and beautiful thing and I encourage everyone to come. We've had people come from Tasmania, Denmark, lotsa english and french, not to mention the numerous people from other states (including myself), all coming to NYC solely for OWS. This is something huge, I don't think any of us realize the potential of this movement.

    1 + 1 = 3 - the whole is greater than the sum of both parts

    let us believe synergistically

    and not in vein of each other.

    It was reffering to the post above mine and the fact that you can't be a human without first filling out a form, getting a license, and waiting three months for a meeting, by which time one usually decides it's too much of a hassle, and it would just be way easier to continue life as a boxed up robot. Fuck the law. 'Tis only a tool for the wicked.

    I could not agree more, there will have to be a point when all parties involved become one somehow. Those people out on the streets protesting are getting alot of support from people who for one reason or another can not attend the protest. There is always people dropping off supplies, donating money, and just generally showing support. All those beeps help to keep you going and shows authorities that the community supports us. I believe that perhaps this is part of The Plan, although we have to wait and see.

    See, that is the whole point of the letter (as I see it anyway)...

    When OWS started, it was totally reasonable that people were too busy there to do anything but organize on the ground.

    Now though, some of the occupations were in planning for most of the first month that OWS was going on. That time should have been used to set a network up across each nation (voting regions) to include the PEOPLE...

    Not only has it not happened, when the subject is brought up to people on the ground, they shrug, say, "they should just come down and join us if they want to be heard".

    If this doesn't change sooner, rather then later, the occupations will die without accomplishing a damned thing except identifying the malcontents in each nation to the powers that be.

    I see the Occupiers also spending a great amount of energy trying to simply stay in place and not be brutalized by police officers, or unjustly arrested.
