Hundreds marched to Citibank where they stood outside and sang songs and spoke against the bank. Former Black Panther, Angela Davis addresses the crowd in the morning. The scene at the Port of Oakland where thousands came to force the facility to close in compliance with the General Strike. Many longshoremen joined the strike.
's what I'm talkin' 'bout, beautiful! :afro: I need to find out what happened last nite. when I left the stream, occupyers were surrounded downtown as 400 some police had blocked them in from four streets...it was reporten that the officers had tape over thier name tags and no numbers were visible. There seemed to be no Oakland police but apparently Alameda sheriff vehicles were spotted along with some other unidentified LEOs... In theory, police from other jurisdictions should not have any authority to do anything in the city of Oakland. Someone on the state level would have to authorize it, I would think. I don't know why all these police from other jurisdictions aren't being sued or at least protested.
