Ahem , I have a choice. I choose not to eat at Mc's and not to shop at Wally's. oby has made purchasing health care mandatory for all but his cronies. Sorry. Fail. More apple and orange comparisons from the murky left wing pond.
you beat me to it Writer. i fancy myself a capitalist at heart. until i look at the logical consequence of modern capitalism and then i'm glad there is an inefficient gov't to slow things down a little. watching what's happened in the last 20 years, there's more to be concerned with non-public sector wealth and power than there is with government. especially in this digital age.
sounds an awful lot like something a big company would want people to say. isn't it fucking obvious when people say shit like that that the powers behind their movement just wants the government to fuck off so that they can have free reign to rape and pillage for a dollar bill.
not to mention its kind of funny and bizarre to see all the little individuals being the fucking mouthpiece of the big money that only cares about making dollars off them
I know it's a different topic, but a few weeks ago an independent scientific commission pretty much said that with 95% certainty that mankind is the cause for the accelerated polar ice melt. There's even documentaries of adventurers who are sailing through parts of the mythic Northwest passage, which is opening up. So I don't think global warming is a scam when the majority of independent scientists have released findings like the ones released 2-3 weeks ago. --- And Riptide obviously ignores factcheck.org and politifact.com, and he wonders why he's not convincing me of his views or why I think he's trolling with his posts. It also doesn't help that he abbreviates everything in slang, as if he did not get enough schooling to learn proper English sentence structure, spelling and syntax.
I am a high school drop out. Started my business from the ground up. No subsidies . I have stated my opines. This is a site open to all. This is America ;proudly hosting more FREE PRESS than anywhere else in the world. Certain folks from certain countries can not cultually handle that kind of freedom. Hence , I am a troll ; exposing global socialism , and islamic terror with genocide as their goal. Fine, I'm a troll. You are PC followers , sheeple. The only issue I wish to convince anyone of is that we Americans , are loosing our nationalism to euro style big government and islamic aggression. Don't like my thoughts? Call me a troll ; and up yours.
http://www.boston.com/bostonglobe/ideas/articles/2010/07/11/how_facts_backfire/?page=full A very good article that needs to be read by all....of course it's fact based.........
Right. OK. Facts still remain. The citizenry is being coerced to buy an overpriced inefficient product. That's right coercion. Perhaps you can find a group of pseudo intellects at a pseudo university that will ask a pseudo government for millions in taxpayer dollars to fund another study. I'm so glad I dropped out. Carry on Comrades.
Are we actually all in America now? You have a very strange concept of 'socialism' I think everybody here is aware there is a lot of that about, unfortunately. Sweeping over where I live, for e.g? not so much (that's the bit you don't acknowledge)
Excellent! But also depressing. I wish they had devoted more space to telling us how those individuals who care the most about facts got to be the way they are. The author was long on problem identification and rather short on solutions. Oh great, so you're one of those business owners that makes our whole group look look bad. :toetap05: Constantly, people presume that because I own a business, I must be a hyper-conservative asshole who thinks that compassion is a sign of weakness. The stereotype gets stronger every year. The new law doesn't require me to offer healthcare to my employees, but I was already doing it, by choice. The term internet troll has an established definition that has to do with the way a person interacts with others online, not about anyone's political views. It's just someone who gets enjoyment out of antagonizing. Look it up. A high school diploma is not a requirement for using the Urban Dictionary.
Not to get into a pissing contest ; I can assure you although I don't bother with employees ; a vast amount of my profits are donated to my favorites amoung them Special Olympics. So don't be condescending because I'm not blowing barry. Nuff said. Regarding your trolling ; no worries. You can call me a "hyper conservative asshole" anytime you feel like it. I'm just thankful that until now now you have had the right to do that. Incidently , what is that anyway? Have you found it easier to do business due to the "shutdown"? I have.
Well, that explains a lot about you. Not necessarily government and not quite even if you replace government with X Y or Z. I can see why a lot of Americans say anything and everything is 'socialism'.
No. A lot of customers are nervous about all the uncertainty in the near future. Some employees keep asking me if their insurance is going to change or I'm going to cut them back to 30 hours a week. I don't know why they're worried, because I've already explained very clearly that the new law has nothing to do with companies with less than fifty employees. Actually, the insurance company we use is going to slightly reduce the rates it charges us for spousal coverage by the end of the year. I guess some of them have been watching Fox News. Customers = job creators. I have never yet hired anybody because I received a tax cut. I hire people when we have more business, and there is more work to be done. Business tax cuts go straight into my bank account.
question Karen, as a business owner you might know... what is the legal context for automatically giving different benefits to part timers ? I constantly hear it said that 'you don't have to give the same benefits to part time employees' yet i can't find laws at the state or fed level that say that. of course there's nothing to prevent an employer to give equal benefits, but what is this legal standard that says you "don't have to" ? or better yet, is there a legal principle that says you can divide up benefits however one wants? there's nothing (up until recently) that says an employer has to give heath insurance or sick time at all.
I don't know what state you're in, but most states kick in various benefit requirements at 20, 25, 30, or 40 hours a week. There is very little federal regulation of that sort of thing. For companies that operate in many different states, it can be very tough to keep up with all the shifting requirements. There are reference books available for business owners, consultants for hire, and web sites that require paid subscriptions. I only operate in one state. I only have one part-time employee (<20 hrs.), but I don't legally have to give the same benefits to my full-time hourly and salaried employees. Legally, hourly workers actually have more legal protection than salaried employees, based on the fact that salaried jobs typically go to people with more education and experience, so the natural law of supply and demand is usually going to work in their favor. This is going to be one of those articles I can't get off my mind, for a while. And it ties into what I was saying about education, in another thread. Maybe one of the best things a professor typically does for a college freshman is destruction of the ego, like a drill instructor does in military basic training. Once a person is forced to let go of the idea that they already know everything, they are ready to truly learn.
