Again, "Colored" is a term that is about as hurtful to black people in the US as the word ******.

Mixed race is fine, but in the US if you have dark skin you are dark, and if you have light skin you are light. It's not specifically about ancestry.

And I didn't say ethnicity was black or white. Black or white are social distinctions in common parlance. Ethnic groups have shared genealogical backgrounds.

 

On the other end, my old Congolese roomates told me that back home, a person with white and black parents was white.
