Who said that? I don't care if everyone has healthcare- that'd be great! But I don't want the government to handle that! I certainly don't want any new taxes! What happened to Medicade we've been paying for decades? It failed!

Mostly everything the government touches fails! If people want healthcare "for all," they should do it through charities, and NOT through government force.

Liberals are against force when it comes to wars, but when it comes to forcing people to hand their money over to government, Liberals are all about it!!

I wonder how much Liberals actually WORK and give 1/5th of their entire check to the government!? For years I was giving up 100$ out of every 500$ I made- I was BARELY making enough to live, but still, the government decided I should pay for someone elses food!!!

Liberals are not as "fair," as they think. Typically, they believe in stealing other peoples money, to support people who want to sit on their ass and do nothing!

Some Women in America do nothing but reproduce, and expect my tax money to pay for their children!

    Honestly, I believe I'm moderate...

    Gay marriage- sure!

    End the Drug war- definitely!

Abortion- it's up to the states!

But most important SHRINK the size and scope of government, before they effing spend us out of existence!!!

Based on International norms - you are not moderate.

I never use his middle name. That was the first time I ever mentioned it, and don't go off acting like you know me cause you have No idea! That IS his middle name, so stating it is just stating a fact.

The fact that you label EVERYONE who disagrees with Obamas policies into one big lump sum, says A LOT about you!

America isn't like other countries! You think we broke free of the Brittish government, to end up JUST like them? Hell No!

Your government is far overreaching and tyrannical, and our country was founded to break away from that!!

In fact, it's safe to say that the last thing Americans want is to be like the UK- esp with regards to the restriction of protest and all your gun control policies!

I'm supposed to be not prejudiced - so if there is no alternative reason to use his middle name - fair enough. I'm only lumping people into one because you are doing the same with others. I'm being as unreasonable as you. Like for like - as it were.

Well there are certain "zones" in which it's okay to protest right?

You can't own a gun in the UK, unless it's a rifle and you could prove you have "a reason" to have it.

You guys are over taxed (which is one of the reasons we left) and they also would force the colonists to have every paper in their home, stamped with an image of the king.

Not to mention you guys are still partially under a monarchy in which you're paying the royal family to sit on their arse.

Probably not the 'zones' you think.

We don't feel the same pull to own guns.

I would say the same amount of money is used for the same government 'expenses' as the US - although you feel a modicum of self reliance because you do your own taxes, and feel paying for healthcare out of your own pocket is a benefit. If you don't have enough healthcare insurance you don't receive the same level of healthcare - whereas we don't always rely on how much you have contributed. I have no idea what you mean with regards to stamping an image of the king/queen.

    I pay about 60p a year - they contribute about 100 million a year - I'm cool with that.

I have the same response to both of these. In America we have a Constitution that was made to protect us from bad governments. Protesting "zones" violate the first Amendment, whereas disarmament violates the 2nd. Therefore, this is clearly government overreach; I feel as though y'all are conditioned to accept bad governments. The reason I keep and retain the right to bear arms is "As a last resort, to protect yourself from tyranny in Government"~Thomas Jefferson

Well if that's true than you should see how much money the US government wastes. We've had Government mandated insurance for fourty some odd years, and there's less people with healthcare now, than there was prior.

This only applies to the 13 original colonies of America, when we were still part of Great Brittan. They would Literally kick in doors to ensure all of our paperwork had an image of King George on it.

Well, your whole population is pretty much complacent. Which is fine, your government doesn't promise you Liberty and Constitutional(Human) Rights, but our does, and since our government was founded on these principles, Americans are more likely to identify when those Liberties are being violated.

But that's not to say most Americans feel as I do, but a vast majority take things like our freedom of speech very seriously. I know I wouldn't trade my Constitional Rights for all the empty promises the government could spew in a years time-- (I've learned better than to trust the American Governments promises anyway)

I can't let this pass. You probably know that I disagree with almost everything you say.

There's a great advantage to being 60 years old. I have all those years, since about 1959, of closely following what has happened in politics in America. I don't rely on any revisionist history, because in a sense, I was there and got the news straight. I've read the newspaper pretty much every day all those years. I've seen what works and what doesn't. I am not a conservative or a liberal. I think for myself. I want the world to be a better place. When right-wingers say crazy stuff like Jimmy Carter was the worst president, I know that isn't true, and when they say Ronald Reagan was the best, I know that isn't true, too.

I am not a liberal, because I disagree with them on a number of issues, like affirmative action, abortion, drugs, and a lot of nanny-state issues. I strongly believe in personal responsibility.

I believe that if Jack Kennedy was president today, he would be very much like Obama. And just like Obama, all his best ideas for America would be blocked by an obstructionist Republican Party. I strongly disagree with you when you say there's no difference between the parties. I don't like either of them, but the Republicans are much, much worse.

We have the house of Lords. No guns required.

You have NOT had one or the other - which is the issue.
Can't you see a partial government healthcare system is more costly than a full government healthcare system?
Isn't the argument between insurance and medicare a huge waste in finances?
And the fact you have to pay for health insurance out of your own pocket a huge waste in resources? Leading to haves and have nots?

Still no idea. Sounds rather boring to me. Live in the 18th century as long as you like. I do not care.

    I agree with you here.

I strongly disagree on your JFK quote, if Obama was anything like Kennedy-He'd be dead already! But what has Obama actually done that's good for this country? He's extended the Patriot Act, signed many unconstitutional laws, drone strikes American citizens without trial and, works for the "rich" you claim to oppose.

Let's talk about the big bad, GOP for a sec. Who wrote Obamacare? Mitt Romney.(R) What republicans ideas does obama differ from?

    War? No! same policies.

Toucher? Nope, same policies as Bush.

Civil Liberties and Human Rights? Nope Obama doesn't give a shit about the Constitution.

I say they're the same because generally, they both believe in expanding the size and scope of Government. Republicans are supposed to be against that, but they've swayed far from that. However, Democrat openly believe that more government fixes the problem... but does it?

Will living above our means fix the debt? No way..

Will more government "create" jobs? Yeah- Government jobs!!

Does food stamps help the poor? No, actually there's no conclusive evidence that food stamps help the poor get out of the slump. In fact, the amount of time people stay on food stamps has increased vastly under Obama.

Does Obama really believe in helping the poor? I'm sure his fans would say yes, but to me, his policies are working toward destroying our middle class. Even Obamacare has a "glitch" in it, that will tax some middle class families out of existence.

So where does Obama differ with the GOP? He and Mitt Romney agreed on every single issue from Healthcare, welfare and warfare! There is no significant difference, and nothing that republicans are preventing Obama from doing.

The people who are preventing Obama from doing whatever he wants is people like me, who believe in the Constitution, and doesn't believe our country should be ran by the whim of a single man.

People like you oppose what the majority of Americans want. I don't see how you can call this a dictatorship.

Every other law Obama passes goes against our Constitution! And how do you know what a majority of Americans want? Obama claims a majority of American support gun control, and that's simply not true!

Let's talk about morals for a second.

I can't walk up to your house and steal your money to give it away- How many votes does it take to make theft/murder/crime okay? If 52% of people want to throw out the Constitution, should we?

The truth is, that the Majority vote, isn't always right. "Democracy is two wolves and a sheep voting on what's for dinner."
