yeah, so what??? I got tired of the same old crap.

just because Q magazine says its the best album of the year doesnt automatically make me wanna run out and buy the damn thing. Ive heard enough of their crap over the years, and layla (or whatever that song is called) really doesnt appeal to me at all.

and whats your point exactly?? all I said is just because a lame ass music magazine says its album of the year doesnt mean shit. its their lame opinion. I have mine.

oh so you have to know music history before you can have an opinion on the band?? I think I know quite a bit about music. and from what I heard from oasis, its just rehashed music from the 60s and 70s. whoppedy do.

I think the point is you're a close minded buffoon. There's only so much those bands can give you before it gets old....you'll see.

alright, assholes, you have an opinion, and i have mine. If you don't like the music i listen to, go fuck yourselves. And likewise with me..If you think i'm close-minded, then i am. If you think that i'm a buffoon, then i am. I am whatever you want me to be, man..

I wish you luck...someday I hope you'll step out of the past and embrace diversity in music.

Now if you don't mind, I'm gonna go fuck myself.

they've released 3 albums since then, you'd be a fool to believe that they continued to sound the same as on their first three albums. one was even an electronica album, if you can fathom that thought.

"Lyla" is by far the worst song on the album.

Your's isn't even an educated opinion. fyi, the music magazine didnt pick the album, the 'Best Album' award (along with other awards) was voted on by readers of the magazine and visitors to the site.

you really know your stuff.

ohh I dont have an educated opinion because I havent heard all of their stuff, okay I see. well, I really dont want to waste my time with that bullshit. I think hearing the first three albums is enough for anyone to muster......

yeah I dont really care who actually voted on the best album of the year, or the logistics behind the voting. the fact of the matter is Q magazine is the one that printed it right??? thats what IM getting at. besides, who really knows how everyone voted??? I dont really trust those things...... and its quite biased coming from people that read those magazines. its not true to how everyone feels. so good day, asshole.

none of the first three albums were electronica/neo-psychedelic (their 4th one was), and none of their first 4 albums had the Hives-ish/Stooge-ish fuzzy guitars that their last two have had.

contrary to your belief, Oasis are one of the most creative and inventive bands making pop music today.

It is.....in the early days it's wot the band enjoyed playing, and they make no apologies for it....... if it's stark originality from a new band yer after....good luck :D

Personnally, i love 'em....but i've always had a soft-spot for rock standards...loved the energy of their early albums....and i love the fact that they are following thier own path and being creative with the latter albums.....hell, they could just sat in a studio and rehashed the same stuff for years and raked in the £'s....luckily tho', they love music and ain't tied to an american record label :) Good lads.

oh god, they sound like the hives........ they must be the greatest band alive. I should now listen to their latest record. you have totally changed my mind about the band. they sound like the hives (which is a poor man's version of the rolling stones) yay!!!

the way you describe them, it sounds like they sound like many other bands out there, so how could they really be creative and inventive??? they sound like the beatles, stone roses, kinks, now the hives and the stooges, but they ARE inventive and creative........ uh huh.

I mean, how can you be inventive when you sound like someone else?? and you said it yourself, their latest record sounds like the hives and stooges. I find it rather contradictory, myself.

The beatles copied other peoples sound and sounded like others, they are still deemed 'inventive'.. You just have to listen to John Lennon's Dukebox... of uknown artists [at the time] happily 'borrowed' from for inspiration..

    I hate comparisons..

Why not download a few albums ..and find out for yourself .. no purchase required ..:p

why is that unfortunate? it doesn't allow sony to dictate album content..as far as i'm aware. Oasis still have complete creative control of their sound
