alright...it IS a unleashed dog in downtown NYC. if you're gonna own a dog, especially a "vicious" breed like that, then you have to be responsible. cops should be trained on other ways to deal with dogs, other than shooting them or pepper spraying them. but when an unleashed dog charges at a cop...what do you expect? i noticed like you guys did how they left the guy laying on the street for over 5 minutes. he wasn't the victim in the eyes of the cops though. he was publicly intoxicated.
Of course they didn't look at the homeless guy. In their minds he's just a bum who doesn't pay taxes. This is the same police department that evicted Zucotti Park to make sure criminal bankers didn't have to be inconvenienced on their way to work.
Considering the caliber of handgun the bullet could have easily passed through the dog and ricocheted off the pavement injuring or killing both dog and owner The magic bullet theory all over again Hotwater
Umm... so what was he suppossed to do? Let that dog bite him? Let it jump to his throat? I don't know if they have tazers on their equipment, he should use it if they do, but on the other hand he had just a split second to react. The other thing is that they shouldn't come so close. --- Meantime in youtube comments: " FAT DUMB PEOPLE, DUMB COMMENTS, CRAZY SCREAMING, ARROGANT POLICE, LATIN MAFIA GUYS, FAT PEOPLE, KFC, MORE FAT PEOPLE, RETARDET MAN RECORDING... The officer fired his gun with a crowd of people standing around. I’m sorry but that’s not what they teach you at the police academy unless the officer’s life is in jeopardy or to protect the lives of those around him – he fucked up good Hotwater
Ugh, that's terrible. I'm fairly certain around here, the police at least know advanced first aid, because more than once I've seen a cop render medical aid to a friend or family member. But this is a small town rural kind of community, so a lot of the cops double as volunteer firefighters and a lot of the firefighters are certified EMTs. I guess that's why it just blows my mind to see an officer refusing to render aid, to someone they thought was intoxicated or not. But yeah, our area is so rural that we have one to two homeless people at any given time, and the cops usually befriend them and buy them food and stuff. Suddenly I feel like a dick for the animosity I have towards most of the police around here.
Fuckers going to get a paid vacation while they 'investigate' he might get a stern warning, and then he'll be back on the streets beating up homeless guys.
Was raided for her choice of herb & shrooms. The front door/porch had a steel security gate. Aruba, my 125lb Sanoma Setter reacted to the cop's hostility loudly. Kenny asked to be allowed to confine the dogs but a rooky freaked and shoot Aruba point blank (3ft+/=) and only the fact that the 357 slug hit the x join in the mesh of the locked gate and shattered the pieces of the slug took Aruba in the chest. Fortunately the vet was a friend of the family an there as soon as the cops left.
This all is just too sad for words. I can't believe that even after they shot the dog not one person went to assist the man having the seizure. We see at least 5-6 minutes before the person filming this was forced around the corner and not one person goes to the man. The police were too busy moving people away so that no one could film them. I am disgusted but more than that my heart goes out to the man and his dog. I hope they both pull through.
i thought that said mackayla at first. i guess she would not be impressed with the way the cops handled the situation.
as a pizza guy, I've had to kick my fair share of dogs, and they usually get freaked the fuck out and run away. I wish i carried a tazer or mace. but that is a big dog that may not have been phased by a solid boot to the ribs or a little pepper sauce or a little zap.
sometime between when you posted it and now, apparently. i was pretty sure police were required to learn basic first aid. of course, i didn't see the video, but you're basically supposed to just let the seizure run its course anyway; just make sure to move anything that they may slam into and hurt themselves on.
^^^the seizure was over during most of the video. the guy just laid on the curb/street while the police bullied the crowd of citizens that gathered around. if you guys read the article, it said that the cops had already pepper sprayed the dog. that is fucking stupid. what is pepper spray gonna do besides freak it out worse? they should be trained to remove the dog from the area before they start kicking the dogs owner
