Red Alert: Strategic Early Warning Radar Is Obliterated in Strike (msn.com) Russia keeps using the threat of nuclear war to deter NATO from getting more involved in the war in Ukraine, while the Ukrainians attacking a major radar installation, for nuclear missiles, can be considered an easy way of inviting NATO into the war! They're desperate, and are systematically attacking Russia's infrastructure, and daring NATO to abandon them. Russia is huge, and has a hundred times as many nuclear missiles as the US, but if they can't detect incoming missiles, they're sitting ducks, and it doesn't take a lot. This is not a cheap radar, and there is no quick fix. The damage looks like a small private aircraft was used for a drone, and everyone taking pot shots at each other and threatening war is not good, but both China and Russia appear to be moving towards a war-time economy, and can keep up their bullshit for years. Right about now, China is ahead of the US in drones and is pulling ahead in navy ships. Within five years, even with their economy imploding, they will make Russia look wimpy.

Russia does not have hundreds of times more nukes than the US. However, this event does signal a new phase in the war, as the Baltic countries and France are now getting ready to send boots on the ground to defend Ukraine if Russia makes a breakthrough towards Kharkiv. Russia had 10 of these nuke radars and use some of them to monitor the skies over all Ukraine with a 4000 mile range. The danger is by knocking out nuclear facilities, Russia could automatically respond with nukes in self defense thinking it's WWIII. These events could bring NATO into the war.
During a NATO exercise some years ago, all the ships lost contact and the exercise had to be cancelled. At the same time, the nuclear launch control rooms in both the US and Russia suffered a mysterious fault that shut them down. Both countries denied it, but the truth leaked out. Do you think that us mere earthlings would ever be allowed to play nuclear war games for real. ?
Russia and weapons of mass destruction - Wikipedia The US about 3,700, Russia has 5,700. MIRVs tend to have five warheads, seven is the most I know of, but that means a single missile can easily destroy all of LA or NY. The EU has infamously nasty neighbors, and China is not thrilled either, nor anyone else anywhere near Russia. The US can claim technology is the future, right up until we have nothing left but rocks to throw at each other.
Military observer analyzes attack on Russian nuclear radar (msn.com) This is the official statement, from Reuters no doubt. It confirms that they destroyed not only a radar for nukes, but it was almost on the other side of Russia. What it doesn't say, but doesn't try to deny either, is the Ukrainians did this with nothing more than $70,000 airplane loaded with explosives. They flew the damn thing really low, below all their radars, and made it blatantly clear. Begun The Drone Wars Have! Creating defenses against them has become the next arms race. Already, cartels commonly use cheap drones for smuggling, and he who controls the air now controls the waves. The Ukrainians have made it clear, drones are the future of Terrorism, and nuclear weapons are becoming commonplace.
I can't think of ANY weapon invented by humans that has NOT been used. And the worst of them will probably be used again. Humans are just stupid / childish / reckless enough to do so.
Blame their teachers, they're used to being blamed for their students complete inability to even share a Kindergarten encyclopedia and dictionary. They like it...
