Just a minor point of order, for the sake of reference: the deadliest school shooting in the United States (VA Tech) was committed with pistols.

What i meant is that we can´t stay under the law of a old book, we have to look forward we are diferent people and have diferent circumstances than others had in their time, rules need to change too. The second amendment was probably necesary to people in a country full of hostile indian tribes, bears and wild life, or even with the threat of the british empire, also that people had diferent weapons then. Diferent time and circumstances, diferent rules then If you don´t get it at once i´ll tell you any times you need
Now Bart, I know you're a little young to get that machine gun you wanted but I'm going to give you something to make sure you can still get one when you're older WOOOAH the NRA"
Not to mention that in the time the 2nd Amendment was written, the US basically had no standing army.
1 No time for civil wars, in civilizated countries. Gosts can only be seen by "special" people, but no real threat or signals of that. And i´m telling you that from Spain, the next Yugoslavia (without war and genocide) 2 if it would hapend, do you think you could deal with bombers, attack helicopters and tanks with your family weaponry? No, right? then you don´t need weapons at home, wait until it comes, join a team, and in the mean time learn to use the Apache so you can kill people safe and far without a jury or hard feelings. 3 watch: Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb You will have fun, and realize how useless and insignigicant men can be if you put a weapon or a air wing in the hands of someone who seee gosts
If its the guns who kill people then why do we send people to war? Why don't we just send the guns? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xC03hmS1Brk"]I Kill People - YouTube
Why don't we just send the guns? very good point! we also have the choice to stop manufacturing guns but people will find ways to kill people even without guns
Exactly! At the point of martial law you are fucked gun or no gun. What did the Jews do in ww2? Survive! Life is important. I find suburban folks of nor cal ( California) funny ...all calm living in their cookie cutter houses suddenly exposing their inner redneck hillbilly for all to see in some odd fear their rights will be stripped from them by Obama ...all trying to look powerful just looking all dumb. Pictures posing with their guns....never did that before a week ago...now think its some cool trend or something. No ones gonna take your shit away. But someone IS making money on all the fear around it.
How did this strategy pan out for the Jews? Do you think it would have turned out any different for them if they would have taken up arms? Have you ever heard of The Bielski Partisans? After their parents were murdered by Nazis, three Jewish brothers in German occupied Poland grabbed all of their guns and took to the woods. These Jews fought back! Against orders from the Jewish Elders, the Bielski's rescued Jews from the Ghettos and built small cities in the woods of a Nazi controlled region. Not only did the three brothers survive the war, but thousands of lives were saved because a handful of men with guns decided they weren't going to play along. They made a movie about this story, called "Defiance" starring Daniel Craig....you should check it out.
That's awesome. I'm not saying give your rights or guns away freely. But I have also entertained the idea as have others of what it would have to look like to use your arms against tyranny of government. My view of this is that by the time someone is forceful enough to enforce or attempt to enforce the fight that they pretty much don't give a shit about your rights and will outnumber you and overpower you shooting or not. Some people will go down in a pile of bullets in the name of protecting the second amendment which by then will have been already taken away. The other options are hide an run and outsmart the warmongers in a strict game of survival. Movies have also been made of people doing just this as well from ww2. Im not saying one is better than the other. Just do whatever you have to do to survive and what you think is right.
Excuse me but no. Don't use the holocaust to promote a pro-gun agenda. First of all, the Bielskis were armed with hunting rifles and stolen SS weapons. At no point did they buy assault weapons at a store. Second of all, they fled to the woods because the Nazis murdered Jews in the streets and in concentration camps. The US government has done nothing of the sort. To even suggest equivalence between gun control and the holocaust is sickening.
And why the hell not? Not PC enough for you? Is it because it's the most popular example of governmental mass murder of its own citizenry occurred in a disarmed society? Is this where it hits below the belt for you? What examples would you rather we use instead? Stalin? Pol-Pot? Mao? Mussolini? How about some Hitler (and other) quotes to provide back-up for your cause: “The most foolish mistake we could possibly make would be to allow the subject races to possess arms. History shows that all conquerors who have allowed their subject races to carry arms have prepared their own downfall by so doing.” - Adolf Hitler “If the opposition disarms, well and good. If it refuses to disarm, we shall disarm it ourselves.” - Joseph Stalin “Ideas are more powerful than guns. We would not let our enemies have guns, why should we let them have ideas.” - Joseph Stalin “Education is a weapon whose effects depend on who holds it in his hands and at whom it is aimed.” - Joseph Stalin “All political power comes from the barrel of a gun. The communist party must command all the guns, that way, no guns can ever be used to command the party.” - Mao Tze Tung “I did not join the resistance movement to kill people, to kill the nation. Look at me now. Am I a savage person? My conscience is clear.” - Pol Pot So it's better to steal weapons from the government in a time of crisis? Ok gotcha, I'll go jot that down so I don't forget. But why do that when I can 3D print my AR-33 magazine :2thumbsup: (as I mentioned back on page 6 or 7) Nevertheless, it's another example of an armed citizenry fending off evil tyrants that you just don't wanna talk about because it makes your arguments look bad. https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=q10Jz2qIog8 Hello? Native Americans? They're considered people too. The biggest genocide ever conducted by the US government was the displacement and wars waged on the natives. The early 20th century eugenics programs that were embraced by the nazis originated by government funded scientific studies in the western united states. Much of it involved the sterilizations of mental health patients, black people, native Americans and others who they felt were threats. It was all about creating the perfect human race, just like the nazis envisioned. It's liberals like you who invest too much trust in the government like it's gonna be there when you need it; to wipe your ass for you when you ask for it's service. Yet time after time history has shown that the government doesn't care for the people; they're only in it for themselves. A government powerful enough to give you everything you want is powerful enough to take everything you've got.
Why not? My comment was in response to someone arguing for a complete firearm ban. As already pointed out, yes they have. Don't put too much trust into the hands of the US Government. I agree. If you'll read my post, you'll see that I did no such thing.
