The connections between Christianity and other religions are pretty hard to avoid. Virgin birth is common. Buddha was said to be a virgin birth. Also, Jesus wasn't the only Messiah. There were about a thousand messiahs a year crucified in Israel. He just had a good press agent. St. Paul. I think Paul may have had money too. But you know, the ancient Romans and Greeks had amazing technology. But the Christian religion brought moral progress. Love your enemies, let he who is without sin cast the first stone, that which you do to the least of my brothers... It led to the Dark Ages. But after the Renaissance, and into the present era, I think we have the best of both. Morality and science.
