Did you learn about it from this picture? I saved this a few days ago to share in the picture thread here but i forgot about it until now
Yes I did the exact same thing. I still have a viking meme i haven't had an opportuistic moment to use yet "don't wait until your death bed to tell people how you really feel, tell 'em to fuck off today"
no matter what they do it wont be the same !! you can buy a replica of Geronimo's Rifle but it not it
??? Transitory means change Or at least transitory is a measure of time, and change is displacement of something over time Everything that changes is transitory. Even the rate of that change itself is transitory
It won't be the same but apparently much of the interior accouterments have been saved, plus the exterior is still standing (not the spire of course.) It'll just be different and in another century no one will be around to know any different.
Id be intetested now as to what they rebuild it with. Concrete only really lasts 70 to 100 years. It went up in flames because it was a giant tinderbox of wood, but 800 year old non treated wood. So there is probably going to be resistance to rebuilding it with wood...from a bunch of people that dont know better. There have been a few skyscrapers in Sydney, and elsewhere in the world recently that have been built using stuff called cross laminated timber and glue laminated timber https://www.smh.com.au/business/com...etes-first-wooden-office-20170426-gvt3ia.html Both these materials are just as fire resistant as concrete, even though it might not sound like it as soon as you hear the word timber. They are basically big chunks of timber glued together with fire resistant glue And a whole lot better for the environment compared to concrete. Sourced from farms that are sucking crap out of the air whilst they are growing. Or dare I suggest it, why not rebuild with recycled plastic products? Either way, rebuild with concrete its not going to last 800 years, at most 200 years before youd have to replace the concrete
Oh glue timber, nice, glue isn't flammable or anything. could be like Delphi. Sniffing some glue, talken to God. Good times.
on my tree limb here. when the news broke .. my fucks given meter read 0 .. big deal churches iconic have been lost everywhere. cuts down the forest to make a church, when the forest is the church.. so fuck that place.
This reaction is exactly my point. Glue and timber, sounds like it should be more flammable than concrete or dry wall.Right? Utterly ridicuous to think otherwise right?
