How sad are these images ! Notre Dame fire: Smoke billows out of historic cathedral in Paris | Daily Mail Online ‘Terrible’ fire engulfs 850-year-old Notre Dame cathedral in Paris as flames erupt from the roof and massive plume of smoke sweeps across the city
Since the fire was spotted at 5:50, their seems to be little doubt that it is somehow connected with the renovation workers finishing at 5:00. All 'hot' work on UK construction sites finishes at least 30 minutes before the site closes to avoid incidents like this and on historic renovation the site is manned 24/7. Sadly, in the past fires have been deliberately allowed to start when problems such as woodworm have been discovered in order to get the infested area replaced by insurance. Unfortunately few people realize how fast fire spreads in a building such as this. It will be interesting to see what the investigations reveal.
What a beautiful church. How sad the historical loss! Part of Notre-Dame Cathedral Spire Collapses in Fire
Colors look similar to the Black Hole Image, probably just data composites. Ok, I'll stop... That looks crazy.
Interior at 1:15 (from the beautiful game AC Unity) An impression of the Notre Dame during the french revolution:
As seen on twitter, absolutely no respect: That being said, this is much more a cultural loss than a religious one. I visited in the summer of 2016, it is truly one of the most beautiful cathedrals I've ever been in. And as someone who was raised Catholic, I've been in my fair share.
A national fundraising initiative will start tomorrow already. If there's going to be an international one (and i expect so) i might chip in myself
“I’m telling you all tonight — we will rebuild this cathedral together. This is probably part of the French destiny. And we will do it in the next years. Starting tomorrow, a national donation scheme will be started that will extend beyond our borders," Macron said.
