Notes on doors

I can never understand why I see - Back in 5 mins on doors.
Five minutes from when?
There are loads that are really good.

 

I "back in five" the shop when I have to.
My answer would be that it's 5 mins from whenever you read it.

The only note I put on the door is at a hotel, and it's the do not disturb, no room service sign.

 

I can't really think of any clever notes I've seen but I have seen some clever No soliciting signs.
