Note to white people with dreadlocks:

ya know..sometimes you got to learn to pick what battles are worth fighting for and those to ignore...many cultures wear the dreads especially those of celtic desent...and afrikan...and even native american....see....locs are not just for Rastafarian but, in my case...InI practice Rasta...and just to happen to be Afrikan...mmm...me thinks a pattern here..

 

The human species originate from Africa. Simply by being human, we are already "violating" something originally part of being black. If you can't live with that, I guess the only solution is to kill yourself.

I thought the whole thing about rascism was that people looked at what was different at another culture and shyed away from it or discreditted it.....so wouldn't white people having dreads show that they didn't mind? Who cares what colour skin or what god you worship, we are all equal....isn't that the whole thing of not being a rasist - equality? And if Equality is what we are about then everyone should be allowed dreads.....you put things as a certain culture and you suddenly start discriminating and being rascist! I got mates of all cultures and creeds and my white and black mates both like my dreads....infact my mate ash whos dad coincidentally is kid creole loves my dreads and buzzs off them

Oh and as your American (land of the free) um well id say you have the least freedom, if you think like that. Im English and here we dress how we like and no one cares cos we actually are equal.....yeah we still have rascists around but we don't have second class citizens....and we accept people for who they are. This subject isn't dumbass. Many people relate to it and other browsers that are kind of clueless about this subject can read it and get their perceptions straight. It's a great wait to clear the fog, friend.

 

I can understand that Ankita. But the fact that he has to post it the way he did is not a way to get peoples perceptions on this subject straight. You may have a few people writing more intellectual posts, if PoopShipDestroyer's post wasn't Discriminating.

So now that I am at the end of all this it is aparent that Poopship has been told over and over what the youngest generation seems to feel. Poopship from what I can see you seem to be quite closed minded. I had hoped that the current generation was going to be the one that could leave ALL the racism and judgement behind, and then I realized you're only 5 years older than me. Why should I listen to poop? My white dreadies are for my headie. Poop needs to be scooped.

 

I've personally never understood why white people choose to develop dreads. Black hair is rather unique, and I've always understood dreads to be a protest against white assimilation (relaxers, even combs). I don't know. It's like...I'm black, so I rarely use sun block. What would be the point?

However, it's just hair. Plus, I'm all for cultural diffusion. That's how we progress.
