oh man, guys.. I think it's past my bedtime.. i'm cracking up at the silliest things.. like "a bird or a dog" made me bust up laughing...and i'm not even sure why. it wasn't that funny.

Weights aren't for everyone, not even all bodybuilders. Even Mike Tyson didnt use them! A gym is about the environment, and people, as much as the actual equipment, IMO. I do use weights. But there's also bodyweight exercises, special bands which are terrific(even powerlifters use bands!). Or exercise like kids do - sports and stuff. I like to mix it up- martial arts, bagwork, running, football, weights, bodyweight. It should always be fun, IMO
generally people who are worried about being "too muscular", who want to be "lean", thin, "not bulky", are in no danger of developing muscle mass. gaining extensive muscle is not something you accidentally fall into because you were doing a couple too many squats.
This is SO true. I have several friends who are competitive body builders. The dedication and excruciating work it takes is something your average elliptical prancer could never handle.
I am not worried about getting bulky. All I am saying is that isn't my goal. However, there are some people that assume because you're working out and lifting weights, your goal must automatically be to get "big."
