The context is you are comparing the wealthiest country in the world to third world countries. The US is a great place to live if you have money and don't mind having the worst social record in the entire developed world, the lowest social mobility rates in the developed world, etc. Which is exactly why our politics are so screwed up and we just elected a bigot president who insisted our last president wasn't even an American citizen. Some have already started leaving the US for places like Canada where they have a higher average standard of living and far fewer social problems. Riots in the streets, snipers killing cops, bankers defrauding millions and never seeing a day in jail, our constitutional rights being suspended indefinitely, etc., etc., etc. while all the wealth goes to the top. Just how bad does it have to get before you admit its just not good?
